I can see where you are coming from.... I've been to England a few times ~ Maybe for those 4000 peeps per annum it was a good option

Sorry it took me so long to find this thread...but this is simply my two cents worth, and it's not worth that...lol.

I'm a recovering alcoholic/addict with amazing obsessive/compulsive tendencies, next month will be 21 years, and it's a struggle every day to maintain a middle of the road attitude. I have to decide when things I go after are right or simply obsessive. Patsi, my honey, deals with depression, she recognizes it and the meds have made a fantastic difference.

Like Billy said, normal is different for everyone, Patsi and I feel we are fairly normal, but many we know would say otherwise. We got and get help when we need it, and I think that makes a huge difference.

I always talk about it because so many people are ashamed that others think they are weak. Every few months I go through hell for a week or so. I count myself lucky cos some people endure it all the time

Yes the ignorance of the subject maybe somewhat acceptable but the behaviour from that ignorance is not. Sooo for those people who cannot muster some sort of humanitarian response to depression or other mental health sufferers I want to say: well when you have a heart attack, stroke, or break a leg well you must be weak!!! Of course I won't cos I'm too caring

The mind can be "broken" just like a limb, and doesn't deserve any less empathy from others.
