The benefits I've received by being friendly and generous have paid off handsomely at times. I've walked into poker rooms and had dealer nod to me and look directly at a table with an open seat that I would not normally sit down at. Sure enough, I go look at the table and realize it's a dream; sit down; and make money. I've even had dealers or brushes give me a call and let me know about games that I should get in. Rarely, if ever, are these games that I lose money at.

Hell, I remember walking into TI one night and having a dealer nod to a $2/$4 LIMIT game. I thought he was out of his head. At limit's that low it's almost impossible to overcome the uphill climb against the rake. But I gave him the benefit of the doubt and sat down while I was waiting for a NL game to start.

Within 15 mins, I took my name off the NL list and played for another 4 hours in that game making about $500. By the time I left there was about $1,800 on the table, the waiting list for a table change was about 15 people, and every rounder in the room was on it.

It seemed the whole table was on insanity mode. 5 to 8 players were cold calling capped betting preflop, and it was unusual if ANY round of betting except for the river DIDN'T get capped. It stayed that way until I took off. (which was 5 mins after the three drunks that were pumping the pots finally gave up and left after contributing about $1200 to the table)

btw - I talked to the dealer that gave me the nod before I left. The three drunks that were making the table so profitable had bought in 10 mins before I walked in the room. The dealer had heard mention that they each had $500 to play poker with and were "gonna chop this table to pieces" After watching the game for 5 mins he wanted to clock out and buy in.

I toked the dealer $60 for the tip and left smiling.

Well that makes alot of sense. There turning u on to good tables. I didnt quite get the pushing a player pot thing. But understand this. Sounds like a good relationship you have Paul !!
