    Terribad in the (poker) well.

So, I'm trying to generate some action on these strategy sections of the forum but it seems to be very dead...

Ask me any related poker question you have and I'll try to answer to the best to my ability. The answers will be strictly from how I play/approach the situation. Others are free to agree or disagree.

I play mostly super-micro (<$5 buy-in) SNGs and MTTs, and 2nl HE. My playing style for SNGs/MTTs are Tight-Aggressive during the early stages, then switching to a more Loose-Aggressive style. For 2nl, I play Loose-Aggressive.

Lets get some action going people!

Care to elaborate more on the questions so I can better answer? Unless you're just looking for the most general answer ever. In every situation it will depend on a lot of factors for me to give a good answer. For example, I might play a short stack differently from EP than I would from LP. Or I might play a short stack a bit differently when a super-short stack (2BB or less) behind me when facing a PFR. If I'm big stack, I might play differently if I only have only 25BBs over the next stack compared to 50+BBs over. So, I'll need more specific details as far as what you're looking for to get better answers. Vague questions will only get vague replies.

Short-Stack: Fold/Shove strategy, 3-bet shove light, super-aggressive play to either make it or break it at this point. I don't mind busting out here since my style and goal is to win and not just make it into the money. Players tend to tighten up a lot on the bubble, so this is a great spot to play more aggressively and try to pickup a few pots uncontested.

Average-Stack: I'm playing a fold/(re)raise strategy here. I'm also 3-betting/shoving a bit lighter from the blinds when facing a button steal. My 3-bet range is not as wide as a short-stack though. I'm also blind stealing a lot more from CO and button with 2.5-2.75 x BB raises. I'm focusing on picking away at the other average stacks to build up my stack. Short stacks calling/shoving range are a bit wide and depending on how big their stack is, I can find myself committed to a pot after I get 3-bet into. So, it may be hard to get them off hands if I do raise and I'll want to be a bit more selective. The same with big-stacks. Depending on how big their stack is compared to average stacks, their calling/raising range my a bit wider. So, it's just a lot easier to steal and attack average stacks. I can easily pick up a few nice pots with a PFR and c-bet a majority of the time. And since I'm only raising 2.5-2.75 x BB, I'm not risking a lot of my stack on these steals.

Big Stack: It would depend on how big my stack is. Usually, I'm folding/raising a lot of hands in position here. And I'm also 3-betting a bit wider against PFRs from short/average stacks. I try to avoid other big stacks if I can since there is no reason to get involved unless I have a really, really strong hand. I think the reasoning is a bit obvious here...

Ignore him. He thinks he's the best player ever in the whole wide world and that no one could give advice quite like him.

I like this thread. I'll think of a good question

    OK, here is a question:

You posted in the "General Poker Discussion" forum about the $0.01 rebuy. Didn't see the hand, but I'm guessing there was a "suck-out". I use that term lightly because you said it yourself... it was a penny buy in. I mean how serious do you really take that? Like our $1 rebuy game... people go all in with shit on purpose. Why? Because they can. Who gives a crap, right? it's $1.

My question is... what limits deserve good play for you? You say you play micro-limits, but you seem to play fairly by the books and by what stats tell you should win. But, how can you really take that into consideration when playing at such low limits, knowing people will call just about anything?

Now, I'm a firm believer in playing your best in most cases. I do play like an idiot at times, and call/chase/donk when I probably shouldn't. But.... it's only a few bucks right? Everyone has that "line"... you know.... the line that you cross when you start to play more serious based on the amount invested into the game. But, everyone's is different. For example, a $10 buy-in may be a lot to me, but that may be pocket change to someone else. What's your "line"?

Also, on the extreme opposite, there comes another "line" where the buy-in becomes too high. Where, you may start to play a little more scared and timid based on the amount you purchased in for. We all have our "comfort zones". What's your upper limit "line" too?
