I wouldn't know where to FIND a key but I know you can buy one on the site. I wouldn't suggest looking for a key generator online because most of them are viruses and such, a friend of mine found that out the hard way when he wanted to get a keygen for a computer game last year.

    Hi all,

So in this post I decided to dig a little deeper into how I use Tournament Indicator and how to use some of the settings that I use.

Ok so under setting there are a bunch of different options that will show data in anyway that makes sense to you.

'Find new game tables automatically', this is ok if you have just one type of indicator product or play just one specific game (i.e. just hold 'em, just omaha, just stud). Being someone who plays anything and everything I leave this box unchecked because with all four indicator products sometimes my Omaha will pop up for a Hold 'em tournament or a my Hold 'em will pop up for a stud game, so for me I leave this unchecked. I would keep it checked if you just play tournaments esp. on LP where the whole table closes when you switch tables as opposed to just changing tables in the same window.

'Select a game table on startup', again this is a useful feature should you be playing various tables of various poker disciplines. When your indicator comes on it will bring a drop down menu of all the games you have open and then you just click on which game you would like it to attach to.

'Move with the game table automatically (Horizontal View only)', I use TI in the horizontal view and hardly ever in the other modes which I will explain in just a second. Some of the data can't be shown in the other views so I tend to keep it in the bottom of the table view but again this is totally a preference thing.

'4 color deck', I have never been a fan of four color decks in any poker game. Unless you are playing 20 tables with each window on it's smallest setting you can usually see the difference between spades and clubs and hearts and diamonds. The software also tells you what you have under your board cards so misreading your hand should almost never be a problem.

'Keep Mini View mode', I really don't like mini view. It shows the bare minimum of stats and it's usually just stats that apply to your hand (EV, win odds, pot odds, etc). I can usually keep track of my own stats, the reason I like this software is to keep track of everyone else's stats. So I think mini mode is really counter productive.

'Keep Vertical View mode', again I don't like this mode either. It keeps some basic stats on other players but I use different statistics in different situations and I like to be able to look at them at will. I also like to see stats that might be useful in the immediate future, for example if i'm going to call a raise with a middle pair I want to know what the agression factor is post flop so I can brace myself for what should (or even worse sometimes should NOT) happen.

'Show my hole cards after fold', I can't really see a reason to NOT have this feature on. It won't take up any less space or anything if it is on or off. So, yeah.

'Close Tournament Indicator when game table is closed', I tend to keep that checked because it just makes for more space when multi-tabling. If I was only playing one table at a time I might uncheck it so I can look at what went wrong on that hand and review some stats for a quick de-briefing.

'Resize Indicator when game table is resized (Horizontal View only), I always keep this checked. If I have a bunch of tables I want my TI to be small to save space, if I have one table I can afford to have it be bigger and let the stats spread out more comfortably.
Ok so now we get to the display format for your win odds, pot odds, and player stats. I tend to keep the win/pot odds in a ratio setting 4:1 and such, I just work better with ratios than with percentages. However I do keep the player stats as a percentage just because the ratio takes up much more room than a percentage.

    Player Profiling Options:
These to be honest I don't really tinker with since I tend to rely on the number itself more than what the software's definiton of tight/loose, passive/aggressive, solid is.
The software's default setting of 8 hands required to profile players to me always seem to be a quick judge of a player. I am also used to Holdem Indicator where it won't profile someone until 40 hands have been played so I might be a bit biased because of that. Jumping ahead a bit here I don't usually rely on player profiling until I am making a decision for all my chips or the bulk of my chips. Due to the tight/aggressive style I tend to play this doesn't happen til the middle to late part of the game, so I don't really worry about not having enough hands of data. I tend to play more math based poker early on and then switch over to reads and stats when the blinds tend to catch up to my stack.

Last # of hands will be calculated for player stack change is deafulted at 10. I don't find this stat particularly useful unless I know a player to be a bit emotional and prone to tilting because of it. I wouldn't put a whole lot of effort into this number and therefore don't really tinker with it. It's mostly there for 'hm, good to know' for me anyways.

Days history data will be displayed I tend to keep on the maximum 730 days. I almost always play with the history button off since I can click on a players name and bring up the lifetime stats on them. Some people play differently based on different things. Maybe they just won a tournament before and don't really care about this one, maybe they had a bad day at work and coming in half tilted. Should I notice a pattern of change that lasts for a month or longer I will tend to throw out the older data. Again people can change, not usually but it can happen. Someone picks up a new poker book and learns several new skills would be a scenario as to why their play might improve, not to mention people just get better over time with experience.

In the next post I will go to HUD (Heads Up Display) settings and when it is good to use a HUD and other times it is more trouble than its worth.

As always any questions or specific requests about something feel free to leave a reply or a PM or whatever .

    Love and life,
    BG

I use Holdem Manager and find it indispensable, but I mostly play cash games. I use the HUD, but mostly only for sitting on the fence decisions and to generally know how players are playing, since I multi-table. For me, the most valuable part of it is being able to go over my sessions afterwards, especially hands that I think I butchered or ones that I think I could have extracted a bit more value by using a different line.

Phil Gordon in his "Little Gold Book" mentions Holdem Manager, but it is not available for the MAC.
But I understand a MAC version may be in the works.

Poker Tracker and Poker Co-Pilot work on the MAC, but it is not supported at LP.
Is there any way MAC users can request support for one or both of these systems at LP so that they will not be at a disadvantage (in terms of using HUD programs), WITHOUT using simulation of Windows.

Then again, there are players who think that these tools are not that beneficial, and rely on their own observances.

They are beta testing the mac client. I think it has a ways to go.
