Tough Choices at the final table
    By Batgirl218

Hey everyone, it's been a long time since I did a hand history breakdown but I would like to get some input on a hand that I played where I am pretty sure I made a solid laydown.

This was the final table of a 90 man sng on stars we were down to the final five:
    Me: 31,939
    Villian 1: 29,414
    Villian 2: 30,188
    Bystander 1: 47,808
    Bystander 2: 37,526
    Blinds: 750/1,500 antes: 175
Villian 2 Open limps UTG with stats through 167 hands are as follows
    25% VPIP
    11% PFR
    10%/50% 3bet/fold to 3 bet
    16%/76% steal/fold to steal
    3.13 Agression factor
    67% C-bet
    33%/71% WSD/WSDW
She's a limp first player obviously and she could be put on a huge range of hands such as:
    66+,A2s+,K6s+,Q8s+,J8s+,T8s+,A7o+,K9o+,QTo+,JTo
Bystanders 1 and 2 both fold and I am in the small blind with pocket tens.
My stats based off oh 3,564 for the month of December are as follows:
    VPIP 9%
    PFR 8%
    Three bet/fold 3%/63%
    Steal/fold 20%/93%
    Agression factor 1.34
    Cbet/fold 48%/20%
    WSD/WSDW 46%/51%
I raise to 6,000 with my 10s and get called by the big blind (villain 1) who shows the following stats after 163 hands:
    24% VPIP
    12% PFR
    0%/80% 3bet/fold
    30%/81% steal/fold
    9.00 Aggression factor
    67% c-bet
    31%/60% WSD/WSDW
So for him to call my raise of $6.000 he has to have a hand somewhere around this range:
    77+,A9s+,KTs+,QTs+,JTs,ATo+,KJo+
Right now as it stands according to pokerstove our equity breaks down to this:
    My Equity (TcTh) : 39.492%
    Villian 1's equity (77+,A9s+,KTs+,QTs+,JTs,ATo+,KJo+): 34.393%
    Villian 2's equity (66+,A2s+,K6s+,Q8s+,J8s+,T8s+,A7o+,K9o+,QTo+,JTo): 26.115%
So I am happy to see a flop and try to hit a set or just not see any big cards.
However, Villain 2 immediately shoves all in for a raise of $24,000 and change.
    Ok wow um....yeeeeah.
After pressing the time button repeatedly so there was no confusion in the software that I needed to think I had to re-evaluate her range.
Her 3bet is 10% so that cuts her range down to something like this:
    88+,A9s+,KTs+,QTs+,AJo+,KQo
Now the equity recalculated looks like this:
    My Equity (TcTh): 35.503%
    Villain 1's equity (77+,A9s+,KTs+,QTs+,JTs,ATo+,KJo+): 30.536%
    Villain 2's new 3bet equity (88+,A9s+,KTs+,QTs+,AJo+,KQo):33.961%

So here's the situation: What do you do?

I didn't have all this equity data on hand but for those who are curious I did fold. But I would be interested in hearing what others would have done with these tens.

    To recap:
    UTG limps (1,500)
    SB raises (6,000)
    BB calls (6,000)
    UTG raises all in (30,188)
Back on you with 1.8 to 1 pot odds and a player to act behind out.
For those who might ask top 12 got paid so we are all pretty deep in the money for a 90 man event.
AND for those who want to know, I folded and so did the big blind and UTG never showed.
    Chat amongst yourselves.
    Love and life,
    BG

I would have done the same. Tens are not such a strong hand on Stars...especially at the Final Table. I know you have been All-In with pocket KK and been beat by someone with pocket AA. 6,000 was a good price to see the flop, but risking it all on pocket 10s would have cost you money in the final payout.

Never folding, win flips. Clearly playing those tourneys on stars the skill level is terrible. Your 6000 raise is very spewy and you can never 4x fold with 20bbs. You should never 4x ever. Simple 4000 raise is good but taking in the fact you're playing a 90 man sng on stars where the skill level is bad, you're 5 handed and you spew raise 4x... I'm never folding. In fact with 20bbs you should have shoved after the limpet limped.OPEN LIMPING IS THE WORST PLAY IN POKER!!!

I'll bet my left nut the UTG limped with AA, and got the response he was looking for.. Namely a raise then a call.

The hand On her end was played with no plan. Never did she ask what do I do if he shoves. If she played the hand with the intentions of raise folding, then open less. 4x is a terrible raise when 3500 or 4000 gets the same result and she loses less chips. Me.... Never folding 10s 5 handed with 20 bbs at a final table. If I run into it so be it. Ak is that range too. But again she played the hand never asking herself "what do I do if he shoves"

Good comment !... If I were her I would have limped from the SB looking to get a cheap look at the flop. Why set mine with a raise and 2 opponents left to act ??. Also agreed, the raise made no sense unless you are going to call an all-In.

Yuck. Such an awkward stack size. I'd have probably shoved the first time it was my turn. Given the prior action, I guess I can understand a fold, and probably would have.

As for some other stuff, I think your ranges could be improved some. I didn't look at the Big Blind all that much, but I don't see any way Limpova Passovich doesn't limp pocket 2's through 5's. There's also some stuff in there she'd likely have raised with, so that would have to come out sometimes. Mostly I'd want to know if she had shown any positional awareness and if that would change things in any way. That's the first time around...

After the limp-shove, now we're in a whole different world. Your 3-bet stats are just that. They don't narrow down to a limp-3-bet, which is a very, very different action. So I think the range is far more narrow now. And since that's the action we're facing, that's what needs to be considered.

And while it has to be thought of some, I don't think the BB is much of a factor here once we're facing the all-in. He's there and needs to be thought about, but he's folding almost always, I think.

I never limp there either. With 20bbs I'm shoving.open folding to less than 20 bbs is bad.

I agree with pretty much everybody. You have to either push or go away with TT there instead of committing 20% of your stack. Being in the spot you are, I would just fold and try to ladder up with the 18 BB's I have left.
