    Was this a donk move?

This is not a league game, it was a $5 freezeout...top 5 pay. I just don't understand why a player would risk their stack on a mid pair, when you are 2 from the money, and you aren't short staked...100/200 blinds. so of course I bubbled. IMO, this was a really bad play. I am still sore...Maybe he was lookin for me to fold? Was I stupid for alling that bet? Did I make the bad play?

Well let's see what God has to say...oh wait he's not around...ok well I'll have to do

Ok well first off I would say when posting a hand for advice try to include EVERYTHING you know about the hand and player involved. Thankfully I have stats on you and Dvn so I can kinda sort through this hand.

Ok CJDavis stats: CJ IMO is a tight player, who limps more often than she should re-raising 3% of her hands, raising 8% of her hands and limping with 12% of all hands seen.

A raise from CJ usually cuts her range down quite a bit I would put her anything from:
    77+,A9s+,KTs+,QTs+,ATo+,KQo

That's just the first raise mind you.

No idea who this NM whatever dude is so we'll forget about him and move on to hmmr

Hmmr shoves (thus a three-bet) so let's see what his three betting looks like:

Ok DvnHmmr, only three bets 3% of his hands so a typical hand for him in this spot is:

    99+ AKs,

So 88 isn't REALLY a stretch for his numbers but it's right on the fringe. So let's see the game from his eyes and what 88 looks like against CJ's range

    CJ's range: 53.821%
    88: 46.179%

So he's only a small underdog against what CJ would be raising with here.

So tech. this isn't the worst possible play ever created Hmmr if he thinks CJ is light here. I think if this was a normal everyday hand Hmmr folds. However, it's a bubble hand and he is short stacked and is willing to take shots to go deeper into the money.

His M is pretty solid for 100/200 and no antes (17ish) so he's not really threatened by anything yet and there is an incredibly short stack who called all-in. I personally don't like this play by him but I can see why someone would make this play. He probably understood the risks and decided to take a coin flip for 10k in chips. It's also a short handed situation in which ranges can increase or decrease depending on your philosophy when it comes to short handed play.

Anyways, like I said if it were me, I would probably fold and wait for the bubble to burst before I start taking coin flips but again that's me. However I don't this was a donk move at all. I think it just feels that way because he hit a two outer on you.

Well, I can't give a mathematical analysis (Calling Batgirl!! nananananananana BATGIRL!) and I am an admitted/proven donker, so won't criticize. lol One of my most infamous donks I went in all in with mid pair knowing that I was at least going to come away with a stack I could get back in the running with, and on the other I was under pressure from being eaten up by blinds and antes. I would like to think that since I still had more than 20bb's I would have been glad to let you take out that little stack, leaving us with only one more player to eliminate, rather than risk my decent stack. Maybe he thought you'd drop it with an all in, and he could steal your bet and the small stack? All I know is it just makes me nervous. lmfao

Soooooooooooo I feel for ya. I hate getin my AA's cracked, and so close ttm would leave anyone steaming.

I would have pushed with AA in your position here, given there's some money already into the pot. I understand NMPSG's play which was a straight forward all -in being the short stack.
I think DvnHmmr was trying to represent the hand you had, and was trying to induce a fold.. I bet he shit bricks when you flipped over the AA !. In any event the result would probably have been the same if he had flat called your raise and you both went to the flop. Depends on whether you could have let go of your hand if he moved over the top of you from there..

I dunno about shoving, but a bigger raise would have been ok. People on this site tend to lose creativity with bet sizes with the epic "bet pot" button.

my guess is he would of called an all in bet from me. If you look at the other stacks, IMO, he really wasn't short stacked for being 2 away from the cash.
Yes, I'm a limper, and play tight...

I should of pushed all-in on this? That's what I'm thinkin would of been my best move here. Jess, thanks i think that your little gadget has a good read on me. I play pretty consistent , tho some times I grow balls and set a nice trap...
