calling raises/all in

This is a discussion on calling raises/all in within the Hand-Analysis/Tips/Strategies/Articles forums, part of the Poker! Poker! Poker! category; I agree with everything you said but at the end i'm still thinking "a min bet"?...

    I love Stevie's pet names

As for memberr and his 100 chip bet. I think that was a save face bet. He knew you would re-raise him and he could fold.
He raised with crap out of position then threw a continuation bet out there and got called.
He wanted to be able to muck his cards so he didn't look like an Asstrout

    Wouldn't check-fold be cheaper than bet-fold?

But on the River.... Check, and a Check now every one with the click of the mouse could see what he was holding, and trying to bluff with. I think Lin was right on with the bet 100 knowing it would get raised, and then......easy fold.........

Ummm...once again, how is bet-raise-fold any different than check-bet-fold if your goal is to be able to muck your cards? Other than costing an extra 100 chips, that is. In fact, wouldn't checking more often lead to a bet than betting would lead to a raise? And on top of that, if the goal was to be able to muck cards (and seriously, that's a goal people have?), then why not just fold when first to act?

He is not 100% sure she has not missed her draw (she did check the turn). He has a fair amount of chips in the pot not to take a little shot at it but he also doesn't want to throw away a bunch of chips. The 100 chip bet will let him know if she has a made hand and also gives him the chance to muck his asstrout cards.
