The Cubs have to be the big faves in the Central. They're in first after effectively playing like crap all year long. Unless St. Louis make another megadeal, the Cubs are walking away with it. Everyone knew that once that team starting hitting, it was kind of over.

Looks like you're right. The Cubs will win the division and lose in the first round of the playoffs. Gotta love the curse.

I can't even imagine, all that money they spend each year. I'm kinda missing them up at the top though, it was kinda fun watching them choke each year!!

The Astros have a habit of not waking up until July 15 and then going on a crazy second half rampage to make a run at the postseason. That's probably more satisfying then the converse path taken by the Mets (i.e. huge division lead lost in outright collapse).

Yeah, it's gotten tothe point where even the Philly phans are somewhat sorry for us. Just a lost year and not much imminent hope for 2010. At least the Mets are getting some huge chunks of payroll back.
