My favorite college team Is the Montana Grizzlies and they play in the fcs or 1-aa. They have playoff system to choose their national championship like every other division of college football except for the the so called big boys of the fbs or 1-a. The other divisions take the 16 best teams and decides their champions on the field. They do not use a computer to pick the 2 top teams to play each other. To make matters worse many teams in the fcs do not even have a chance to win the national championship. There is 120 teams in the fcs and you have to belong to a certain conference to even have a chance to play in the championship. Of the 120 teams in the fcs, 64 of the teams do not even have a chance to play for the national championship. Look at TCU, Cincinnati and Boise State this year, they are all going to be undefeated. But it has already been determined that the national championship game is going to be the winner of the Florida/Alabama game and Texas. My 9 year old son asked me saturday why the FCS does not use a playoff system and the only answer I could come up with is money.

Old Mav realizes exactly that there are a lotta school football championships and so good luck to Montana Montana and so u they Montana deserve to win it and so butt did u see the Texas and so Nebraska game Texas won with a last final play game wining field goal and so if they missed it TCU would possibly have gone to the NCAA school football nationial championship game and so it is gonna be Alabama who beat Florida earlier today and so to seta up the must win situation and so thing whutever and so for Texas needing to win and so alas thus Texas gonna play Alabama for the nationial championship 2010 and so WTG both Alabama and so Texas to reach the championship game by wining their own conference play off championship games today and so alas though Cin beat Pit to remain un defeated and so WTG Cin and so should be a interesting bowl play off thing whutever and so old Mav no not exactly aware if the local goofy goofers r gonna go to a bowl and or no not butt N D decided to no not go to a bowl game and so that is N D for u and so alas old Mav realizes good luck to every body who may go to a bowl in 2009 2010 sorry right... sorry old Mav

I wonder if the guy from cincinnatti would have left early for Notre Dame had they made it to the national championship game.

i agree with you mav. but i was watching something one day and i'm pretty sure i overheard that the BCS system in place now, the contract for it is gonna be up in 2011 i believe it was. which we both know doesn't necessarily mean they're getting rid of it but i think if enough of talk comes up before that time that they just might have to look into changing the system somehow someway. as if enough of bad-mouthing hasn't started already about the system. before it didn't matter. only certain teams were always undefeated but now that schools are getting more comparable to the top dogs they have to put something in place now that way schools feel like they're being treated fair. but until that day it'll always seem unfair to some top quality football program!!

LET'S MARCH ON WASHINGTON!!!!!! LOL

Old Mav realizes exactly right RIGHT u r Mo those teams that go 12 0 that do no not qualify to play r cheated by teams that supposedly have harder conferences and so harder schedules a add on game should be played sounds only fair butt alas they probably would no not never agree to do that and so those that go 12 0 butt no not play in the major conferences lose any chance to play in the nationial championship game alas there should be a play off system unfortunately probably no not never gonna do that cuz the major conference schools refuse to allow such a system right RIGHT sorry right... sorry old Mav

The thing I find hard to believe is that every other sport in college has a playoff system.

BINGO! Or should I say "Right on the Money!"

No way the host cities and their big sponsors are going to give up the millions of dollars that pour in every year during the bowl games without one heck of a fight.

People do not understand what they are missing from not having a playoff system. I am University of Montana fan and they play 1-aa or fbs. they made the champioship game this year and what a ride it was. First round saw a amazing 27 point comeback, second round saw a 52-0 rout, and the third round saw a game where we beat the best college player (Armanti Edwards) you probably never heard of. We lost lost the champions game 23-21, but man it was a great ride.
