Is anyone not voting because of all the bullshit? I never vote here but if I was to vote in the UK elections, my partner and I would be voting for different parties. We both come from completely different backgrounds; he is conservative and I am more for labour
Was just wondering.... with all the debates floating in the snake pit, are there any debates at home? Does anyone debate with their partners about who they vote for... do you and your family vote for different candidates?

My gf is a pro-choice, Jewish, union card-carrying, music educator. A free cookie for anyone who can guess if she'll be matching my Obama vote!

Yes it was a forwarded email I received. Just posted it to see what you all thought. I didn't post it cause Im leaning toward McCain. I don't vote necessarily for one part or another like many do. I guess I'm considered a undecided as of now. But am strongly starting to lean toward a candidate.

I really respect that. You are right. Many people will choose a candidate because of the political party they represent. Its good to hear someone weighing up the options based on the proposals candidates put forward and deciding from there

    Undecided?? Sounds like Obama is....

    Obama backs Rays, Phillies

Barack Obama, campaigning in the key swing state of Florida, is seeking to capitalize on the excitement over the World Series-bound Tampa Bay Rays, telling a Tampa crowd he was “showing some love for the Rays,” several members of which joined him onstage.

    Only problem?

Obama, a self-avowed Chicago White Sox fan, declared his allegiance earlier this month for the Rays’ National League opponent in baseball’s championship, the Philadelphia Phillies.

On Oct. 11, Obama told a crowd in the City of Brotherly Love — the biggest city on the key swing state of Pennsylvania: “My White Sox are gone, so I’ll go ahead and root for the Phillies now.”

And Palin is doing some of the same....

"Perhaps It Is Time To Change The Speech?
I make no political statement with the following post, just thought this was kind of funny

Last week in Salem, NH, Governor Palin made the following statement to the crowd:

"We're just 20 days out from the election and it's going to come right down to the wire, and we're counting on you because Red Sox fans know how to turn an underdog into a victor, and that's exactly what you can help us do on Nov. 4.

And then earlier this month in Jacksonville, FL, she said the following:

"How about those Tampa Bay Rays? ... You know what that tells me; it tells me that the people in this area know a little something about turning an underdog into a victor. And we're counting on you to help us do that Nov. 4."

Pennsylvania is a pretty important state in this election, so expect to hear about the Phillies being an underdog that "knows how to win" soon."

    Ah, those crazy politicians........

Of course they pander to the voters (fans)...but the difference is in supporting the actual team. Taking both sides...Palin spoke of the team's accomplishment, Obama indicated that he was rooting for both sides. Big difference IMO.

I agree that you should vote for the candidate and not the party. I always look at their platforms before making a decision. My grandmother will vote straight ticket and I have tried and tried to get her to look at what each person stands for, but she refuses. I guess back in the day you could vote democrat or republican, but now they are not all that they were. The parties are no longer black or white...there is a grey area, so be careful what or who you are voting for.

I have my own reasons for voting the way I am, I am not undecided, I will not share my reasons here, but I do think you should look at what our president is supposed to represent and stand for and which candidate is doing a better job of it.
