Personally, I'm of the opinion that we pull all troops out of everywhere. Bring them home, keep them active, and put them on the boarders and supplement the Coast Guard. Elimination of all foreign aid stops to everyone immediately
Operation costs go down, and the money spent on Defense and the troops, stays in the country.
i don't know about you, but if you put 250,000+ troops back in the U.S. and put them on our borders, I think that would put a boost back in the economy. Hell, the Democrats should love it, it'd be like a new stimulus bill. The Republican's should like it because it secures our borders and actually cuts costs.
As for the rest of the World, let'em go pound sand. China's right, the free ride is over. Not only for us, but the rest of the world as well. If someone want's our troops for some reason, we charge them not only the operation costs, but triple pay for the troops deployed.
I am surprised it has taken us this long to screw things up for us Americans, after all, we have been working on it for years. I have said it many times, will say it once more, WE CANNOT SUPPORT THE ENTIRE WORLD. I do like Nymus post above me, but that makes way too much sense for us to do it.

IMO they should have immediately been sent home for safety's sake. Wasn't it obvious to everyone that they would be targets?
One other thing... (please know that I truly don't believe in these conspiracy theories, I just tend to keep an open mind)... but after bin Laden was killed I thought the fact that the US so quickly disposed of bin Laden's body... dumping it in the sea... was extremely suspicious and no amount of explaining by the U.S. would ever convince me otherwise. But now the witnesses to bin Laden's death are gone too??? Makes ya wonder.... it's just all so bizarre....

Well if I were to start believing in conspiracy theories, I'd start with this one. For sure, this is worth investigating. (for the record, I don't think anyone can keep a secret long enough for a conspiracy to exist for long, least of all the US government)
