    Wisconsin passes anti-union bill

what's you opinion on the wisconsin republican legislators splitting their "union busting" bill from the budget bill so that they can vote on it (and pass it) without a quorum?? is this simply what's to be expected when all of the democrats flee the state to try to extort a compromise?? does it make a mockery of democratic process?? are the violent threats against the republican legislators ok since they are such evil bastards in the minds of their opposition?? will the left be outraged if someone follows through on the death threats that have been made??

Bottom line: the Dems are pissed cuz this time they were not able to get their way. They would have done better to go on record and speak their minds during the legislative process. Rather than run off to IL they could have demonstrated in support of the unions and then refused to vote on the issue. If they ended up in jail then they would have been heroes in the eyes of their supporters and perhaps in the next election the voting populace would have remembered and voted the Reps out.

"Holy over-reaction, Batman!!!!!" I mean, are you freakin' kidding me?? So they passed a law restricting collective bargaining for government employess, so what? Is it the end of the world? HELL NO! It's a campaign issue for the next election, AND THAT IS ALL!!

This bullshit going on over there is beyond outrageous, and Democrats should be ashamed of themselves. For one, where is the outrage for the behavior of the demonstrators?? From the same people who were blaming Sarah Palin for the Arizona tragedy to be giving these people a pass is a joke.

And who has to pay for all of these recall elections? The already cash strapped state government is who, yeah, that helps doesn't it? And for what? Just so they can try to capitalize on the current frenzy, they can't wait 18 months for the next election cycle? How many of these state workers will end up on food stamps before then?

Yeah, that's what I thought. There is NO WAY this behavior is justified. They lost an election, deal with it. A law was passed they don't like, deal with it.

Grow up Dems, you can't run away and hide because you aren't in charge. You can't throw a hissy fit every time you don't get your way. This is EXACTLY what democracy is about. You lost! better luck next election.

I am and have always been against unions, no offense to any one that belongs, but I wish there was a Union for the elderly where they could get their cost of living raises on social security each year. Brings ,y heart we don't care more for the people that got us this far.

there already exists a very powerful organization that lobbies for the elderly - AARP.

just curious, would you keep making social security payments and providing medicare benefits even if it meant bankruptcy for the u.s.?? there simply is NO WAY to balance the budget without changes to medicare and social security.

fyi, most plans that have been brought forward DO NOT include ant reduction in benefits for those already receiving benefits. of course that doesn't stop some from fear mongering about grandma eating dog food.

oh come now, don't tell me you think ss and medicare is bankrupting the U.S.A You and I both know there is plenty of money in those funds but the government "borrowed" the money with no intention of putting it back in. And from what zi read the AARP backs whats his name. I have an idea, why not discontinue sending money to every country in the world and take care of our own. Sorry but I think you know from pat posts, my two pet peeves are the elderly and veterans. These people have paid their way, and now the way is not taking care of them.

    Excuse me on Veterans ...
Sure up to Vietnam where most of the Nam vets were inducted under penalty of the law to them it was a duty. The modern vet has no obligation to serve to the present vet it's a job. Modern Vets should be given benefits like any government employee.

As the aging WWII, Korean and Vietnam vets die off the VA hospitals can then be shut down as the modern vet should have health care through the military and if wounded placed on workman's comp like any other American would be if injured on the job.

Theres no VA for Firefighters, Cops, CIA, FBI, NTS, Border Patrol or IRS agents ...
