Joseph Bruno, former State Senate majority leader, was charged and indicted after he stole millions of dollars from businesses. When in office for his 14 years, Bruno would steal money from companies seeking business from the state. Joe Bruno was indicted on eight counts under the anti-corruption law. What the anti-corruption law does is make it a crime for elected officials to deprive citizens of honest services, which Bruno did, bringing in $3 million for himself, over 13 years. Another fact to keep in mind is that Bruno and Governor David Paterson remained as close friends, even after Bruno stepped down. It seems that politicians are constantly in the news for doing bad things... whether it be hiring prostitutes, stealing money or auctioning off senate seats.
Most politicians makes promises they can't keep! Only because greed gets the best of them their too busy stealing other peoples many. If it's not gaining a vote for their next election, then the least of their worries is taking care of issues that they all don't care about.
