Why is it the country who is buying up all of our debt is ...

A Communist country with a capitalist but regulated approach for industry and a socialist safety net for workers.

This country is buying our property and debt at a record rate at a bargain price while the rest of the world is going deeper into a recession.

So if unfettered capitalism got us and many european countries near collapse and the communist are booming .. don't you think it would be time for a change in americas approach to labor and industry.

just wondering if this is actually a serious thread with a legitimate question or will the punchline follow in a day or two?

Please don't make me cut and paste pictures of blacks having dogs turned loose on them or of white cops beating up innocent black men or of the injustices committed on native americans or of the cheap prison labor in the south in the form of chain gangs doing labor for 50 cents per hour.

Or of closing shops in the north so they can be moved south and re opened for very low wages with no benefits.More amazing than anything is bluff uses so few words in his answer. But I think I can answer the question .. would it be because american businesses chose to use cheap labor, cheap materials and contaminated products to sell us americans at prices just lower than an american manufacture could produce the same product better with a more skilled work force.

don't even know where to begin nicole. are we discussing human rights here or economics??

Perhaps you can show us some details on the Chinese "safety net" and explain the role their government takes in regulating the economy and why it's a better model and western capitalism. Once you explain and document that, we can have a discussion...otherwise, i'd just as soon stay away from the bs and rhetoric.

To simply sum it up .. They own us. So I sumize they are doing what they do better than what we do.

Safety net, protection from corrupt enterprises with bullets for the corrupt and cradle to grave health care.

PS .. I didn't hijack this thread with the picture of the army arresting protesters in china.

would have been easy enough to ignore though

cradle to grave healthcare in china?? um, let's do some math

BEIJING -- The Chinese government pledged on Thursday to increase spending on social programs including pension and medical reform in 2009 despite pressure from the international financial crisis.

"The more difficulties we face, the greater attention we should pay to ensuring people's well-being and promoting social harmony and stability," Premier Wen Jiabao said in a government work report to the annual session of the parliament that opens here Thursday.

The central government plans to spend 293 billion yuan ($42.84 billion) on the social safety net this year, up 17.6 percent or 43.9 billion yuan over the estimated figure for last year, he said.
$42.84 billion divided by a population of 1,330,044,544 (July 2008 est.) = $32.21 per person. Must be a hell of a safety net. Maybe if they didn't buy all our debt they could spend a bit more

Please don't make me cut and paste pictures of blacks having dogs turned loose on them or of white cops beating up innocent black men Ok were talking in the 1960's we have came one hell of a way from then.

or of the injustices committed on native americans 1800's come on, you can do better then that.or of the cheap prison labor in the south in the form of chain gangs doing labor for 50 cents per hour. Back in time, or current. let stick with current, as that is what you context was about, as now as in current we are in a resession. Currently the inmate choose to take part in the chain gang, and .50 an hour is pretty damn good. this is our tax dollars that are paying them.

Or of closing shops in the north so they can be moved south and re opened for very low wages with no benefits.More amazing than anything is bluff uses so few words in his answer. But I think I can answer the question .. would it be because american businesses chose to use cheap labor, cheap materials and contaminated products to sell us americans at prices just lower than an american manufacture could produce the same product better with a more skilled work force because we allow it, as amerian consumers. We have the choice to buy made in america, or made else where. Your China is on the news all the time. lead paint used in baby toys, killer dog food, to name a recent few products
