    What would the Teaparty think?

I wonder what the Teaparty people would think of this kind of President...

    - Nearly trippled the national debt.

    - Increased the size of governtment, while increasing Fed spending by 2.5% a year.

    - Was resposible for the largest peacetime tax in U.S. history, as well as the largest Corporate tax in history.

    - Was unwilling to retaliate for terrorism in the Middle East.

    - Praised and supported known terrorists, going as far as to compare them to our "Founding Fathers".

    - Believed that the death of innocent civilians during "anti-terror" operations was "Terrorism itself!"

    - Believed that torture could be used under "No exceptional circumstances whatsoever!"

    - Was the only President in history to belong to a union and even served time as president of that union.

    - Wanted to get rid of "ALL" nuclear weapons.

    - Gave amnesty to all illegal immigrants.

Not to mention that his administration declared that "ketchup was a vegetable"(even though a tomato is a fruit).

Oh wait, I know what they'd think of him... They made him their "Massiah".

I'm no Teabagger as you like to put it, presumably because you prefer to insult, belittle, and denigrate those of differing points of view, but . . . .

It's easy to make statements like this about anyone, all you have to do is leave out details, and don't put anything in perspective. It's known as "spin", it isn't raw fact. It can be spun in any direction by whoever is doing the spinning.

it isn't honest debate, but I wouldn't expect honest debate from someone who starts off the discussion by insulting the other side.

First of all I think you need to reread what I posted here. I never once mentioned the word "Teabagger" in this thread. Besides, the term "Teabagger" was originally claimed by those that are members of the "Teaparty", I just like reminding them of that fact.

Second, everything I posted here is "FACT", period. Spin is something you get from "Faux News", not from me. For some reason the "Right" likes to try and rewrite history, to bad those pesky facts keep getting in the way huh?

    - Nearly trippled the national debt. - almost true, an increase of 2.6x, roughly 1.7 trillion over 8 years, about equal this year's deficit. His deficits as a percentage of spending were in the neighborhood of 11%, while Obama is borrowing roughly 40% of what he is spending.

    - Increased the size of governtment, while increasing Fed spending by 2.5% a year. - Most of these increases were in defense spending during the height of the Cold War . . . also 2.5% per year hardly covers inflation

    - Was responsible for the largest peacetime tax in U.S. history, as well as the largest Corporate tax in history. I call bullshit on this. You throw the word "peacetime" in there to let Roosevelt off the hook, but the Cold War was just as real. And taxes were on a continual decline from Roosevelt until H.W.B. broke his 'read my lips' promise . . .

    - Was unwilling to retaliate for terrorism in the Middle East. Terrorism against whom? On Israel? Against Israel?

    - Praised and supported known terrorists, going as far as to compare them to our "Founding Fathers". - Name some names

    - Believed that the death of innocent civilians during "anti-terror" operations was "Terrorism itself!" - good things to believe in

    - Believed that torture could be used under "No exceptional circumstances whatsoever!" It's the definition of torture that is arguable, not the right to torture itself.

    - Was the only President in history to belong to a union and even served time as president of that union.
Where he reported Communist sympathisers and helped purge the union of Communists by helping to black ball members of his union from working in the industry

    - Wanted to get rid of "ALL" nuclear weapons. Don't we all? But letting go of ours will not encourage our 'enemies' to lay down theirs. He also is the one who initiated the largest nuclear arms race of our time.

    - Gave amnesty to all illegal immigrants. Don't fault him for trying, it sure didn't do anything to curb illegal immigration, now did it?

Not to mention that his administration declared that "ketchup was a vegetable"(even though a tomato is a fruit).

In mid-1981, only a few months after Reagan took office, Congress cut $1 billion from child-nutrition funding and gave the USDA 90 days--the blink of an eye, for the federal bureaucracy--to come up with new standards that would enable school districts to economize, in theory without compromising nutrition. The USDA convened a panel of nutritionists and food service directors to ponder what to do. One option on the table--no one later would admit to putting it there--was to "accept catsup as a fruit/vegetable when used as an ingredient. The proposed directive was criticized by nutritionists and Democratic politicians who staged photo ops where they dined on nutrition-poor meals that conformed to the new lax standards. After that, the Reagan Administration's policy was never implemented.

Oh wait, I know what they'd think of him... They made him their "Massiah".

BTW, the Clinton Administration tried to do the same thing with salsa

The ONLY people who write history are the winners of any given situation, it's only their version of truth...right or left, makes no difference.
