The republicans made fun of Carter and instead of paying off the debt and becoming energy independent, Americans as usual only thought of the now and elected Ronald Reagan who promised us utopia if we cast off the chains of opression he claimed held back industry.

Today the leading republicans are now saying we gotta suffer through this recession by accepting lower wager and other concessions like paying more for services and lower taxes for big business.

So the worm has turned ... The republicans are using Jimmy Carters recovery slogan .. We all must suffer a little. The difference is, ... the republicans expect the ordinary citizen to suffer and big business reap the benefits like moving more manufacturing jobs offshore and being rewarded for it.

The same Carter who traded guns to terrorist for prisoners. And of course Carter never had anything to do with the housing bust. Though he did build home for the poor working for Habitat for Humanity.

Like any homes purchased during Carter would have become loan free after all Carter,s administration was over 30 years ago. Back in the day I had a small payment from my trust fund. I used the loot as a down payment on a rental and today I own it outright and it's still a rental.

I find it very difficult to work up any faith at all that either of the parties will do the right thing. It just seems you cannot get into positions of power if your ethic is to do the right thing because it is the right thing to do. I resent having to choose the lesser of 2 evils.
