But that's not a real lie, that's a politics lie . . . one that all sides do. Go back to where you are banging the drums about Newt's lie to the ethics committee, that is what I'm quoting on you. I doubt there is anything in those documents that isn't already speculated on or openly discussed. He was cleared of wrong doing by the IRS, Democrats never mention that. He simply stuttered on the answers by the committee rather than being completely forthcoming.

Go to the Vernal UT BLM site and see where he opened millions of acres in the Tavaputs Platu oil and gas fields where hundreds of gas and oil wells are already operating ..

Gasco operates the majority of the mineral lease rights underlying both the public and private lands in the project area. The project area encompasses approximately 206,826 acres, predominantly in the West Tavaputs Exploration and Development Area with some overlap into the Monument Butte–Red Wash Exploration and Development Area of the Diamond Mountain Planning Area of the VFO. It is located primarily on BLM-administered lands (177,644 acres), but also includes lands administered by the State of Utah (25,451 acres) and privately owned lands (3,731 acres). The project area includes lands within the restored boundary of the Ute Indian Reservation, but no lands administered by the tribe or by the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA). Targeted geologic strata lie in the Wasatch, Mesaverde, Blackhawk, Mancos, Dakota, and Green River Formations, approximately 5,000–20,000 feet below the earth's surface. It is Gasco's intent to further explore and develop all these potentially productive subsurface formations.

I guess you missed my post a while back about how new lease applications have dropped due to excessive regulation under Obama. Much of what he is taking credit for are applications filed under the Bush administration, including the gulf leases that he is taking credit for today.

I don't quite follow but do understand some of it ... I'll do some research on those points.

I do know they are granting many new drilling applications one of which recently sold for 1 million dollars close to and along the Green River on the Taviputs .. They also granted a million dollar gas lease up 10 mile Canyon in Utah.

Here is the simple explanation: Applications for leases have to follow the rules. Obama has made new rules, thus making it more difficult for new lease applications to be submitted. Old applications are subject to old rules but still take time to approve. Applications filed under GWB have generally been approved by Obama since they meet the guidelines. To do otherwise would be political suicide. Obama has on several occasions taken credit for the approval of the old applications - even when he was able to delay them for years as in the case of the gulf leases.

Even further simplification: Look over here, I'm doing this. Don't look over there because that's what I'm really doing and I didn't have anything to do with the other thing I'm taking credit for.

As simple as it gets: His words don't match his actions, hence he is full of shit.
