It wasn't that long ago people were panicking over bird flu

Actually, damn near everyone I know has already had the dreaded swine flu... First My sis's kid got it, and her bf's kid... Both were given the SAME instructions at the doctors office that would be standard for ANY cold or flu. "Keep 'em home, keep 'em in bed, give 'em plenty of fluids, give 'em chicken soup (millions of grandma's CAN'T be wrong) and don't worry... Call us if the fever spikes more then 102F"

Then My Mom, brother, and sis in law got it... Same instructions...

Then sunni got it... Same instructions...

Then My buddy Steve's kids got it, followed by Steve and then his wife (who for the record, has MS)... for ALL of them... Same instructions....

For all of them it was the same, they felt like they were coming down with the mother of all sicknesses for a few days, achy, tired, low grade fever, etc, etc, etc... but it never really got worse then that... within a few days they were feeling better.


This has lead Me to two interesting conclusions.... Neither of them scientifically based, yet both are seemingly true based at least on antidotal evidence.

1. Diarrhea is more dangerous then the swine flu.
2. A steady supply of rare red meat, cigarettes, bacon, and booze is more effective in preventing the swine flu then even the damn shot!!! (as so far, I'm the ONLY person close to Me who HASN'T gotten it)

Take THAT health nuts!!!

I think it is serious, a friend of mine moms was on life support from it, she is off now but it was scary. My mother in-law has it. I dont think it is anything to panic about. The odds of getting it are not high, and then the odds of it being deadly if you do get it are not high.
