    Spending Cuts...

There are plenty of places to make cuts without taking it out on the poor and the middle class(what's left of it).

    1. End the two and a half wars that we're in, and end them NOW!

Bring our troops home and use them to guard our borders if your so afraid of us being attacked.

    2. Close the hundreds of military bases that we have throughout the world, and close them NOW!

WWII, the Korean war and the Vietnam wars have all been over for decades! It's time to stop wasting money keeping all of these bases open. With all of our aircraft carriers and other technology that we have today, we can be anywhere in the world in a matter of hours.

Besides, how many military bases do we have in the U.S. that belong to other countries?

    3. Go back to the exact same tax rates we had in 1986.

The Teaparty and the GOP pretty much "worship" Ronald Reagan, so they should have no opposition to going back to the way he had it, right? In the 80's there was plenty of money to be made, and the people on Wall Street as well as corporations made HUGE amounts of money.

    4. End all of the "FREE TRADE" bullshit!!!

Instead of giving companies incentives for staying in the U.S., punish them for NOT staying in the U.S.! The main reason companies leave the U.S. is so they can take advantage of people in other countries by paying them lower wages, therefore making more profit for themselves. All this does is put more money into the pockets of CEO's and Wall Street, at the expense of the American worker. It's time for this bullshit to stop! I say that when a company leaves the U.S., that we put a huge tax on the products they ship back to the U.S. A big enough tax to take away the profit margine they have now and have been exploiting for years. That way if they still want to make money they'll have to make their products here to avoid the taxes. That should put millions of Americans back to work.

One thing that I believe corporations have overlooked is the fact that they need the American worker as much as we need them. If nobody in America is working, then how can they afford to buy the companies products? I believe that Henry Ford came up with the concept a 100 years ago, of paying his workers well enough so that they could afford to buy his cars. It worked out pretty well for him, and I'm sure the idea would still work today.

These four things alone should save/make the U.S. TRILLIONS of dollars a year. Which in turn would save our great country from the financial ruin that it's heading for today.

Hey talk to the boss, he said he was going to end the wars, not start a third

    Amen, again, talk to Barry

Those were rates that were dropped from the punitive, recession causing rates of the '70's. An increase in taxes like that would have devastating effects.

Raising the nominal tax rate on the wealthy has adverse affects that cannot be ignored. What you have to realize, it's not that I feel sorry for the rich, or that I want them to save some money on taxes. Not at all. But what happens is that the rich shelter their money from taxes, which has a crippling effect on the economy that doesn't hurt the rich at all, just the middle class you want to protect. This is inescapable.

Ask Moab how close to the current 32% tax rate she is supposed to pay she actually does.

In your dreams . . . . I think you have no concept of what one trillion is, let alone trillions. If you seized the entire fortunes of the Forbes 400 richest Americans, it would hardly put a dent in the deficit for this year alone.

I'm all for revamping the tax code. It is been manipulated so much that it doesn't even make sense any more. And we should probably stop using the tax code as carrot and stick altogether. But, there is no tax solution to the problem we are in. We have to stop spending money as if it grows on trees.

Thanks to the Republicans since Ronald Reagan. And people like you support tax cuts for the rich.

Thank you and you know that I support passing laws so the rich pay more of their share.

Without hard working men and women in America and throughout the world Steve Jobs, Paul Allen and Bill Gates would working at mediocre job and that's why they put so much back to charity.

The problem with charity is it only reaches a target group to my knowledge the wealthy charity givers don't build bridges or pay salaries for congress .. raising our taxes would add to the gross receipts of the government and help pay down the debt and go towards infrastructure needs.

You are full of shit and you know it, you said yourself that your accountants worked your 32% down to a mere 8% . . . . So if we raise the nominal rate to say 50%, what are you going to pony up a full 10%?

the downside of that is what you do with the money to keep it from going to the tax man. The best thing for the country is for "the rich" TO SPEND THEIR MONEY, not tie it up in mutual funds and tax deferred annuities and other shelter devices.

You talk this shit about raising taxes on the rich all the while you smirk and admit you don't pay anywhere near the nominal rate now.

So tell how raising your rate changes anything for the good?

2% more of my taxes would pay your wages for a few years. As it is 8% will pay a teamsters wages for 15 years ..

I and my accountant don't commit one illegal act in reducing my taxes these tax deductions used are all passed by mostly a republican led congress and the laws past into legislation by a republican president. Remember Clinton raised the % paid and closed some deductions.

So here we have it ... because you don't like me I can't do what Bill Gates does on a much smaller scale. Or What Barbra Bush does or Her husband and children .. How about Dick Cheney ... He made millions while in office and doesn't pay any taxes.

    So why me?

All I want is to help those that need help and help them get back where they want to be .. healthy, fit, able to work and raise their self-esteem .. Isn't that what you want Curt, be able to work do your job without government interference, take a vacation, buy a decent car, have a nice home and most of all good health. Or do you just want to bitch about the poor rich until it comes to me?

I didn't say you were committing a crime, I am suggesting that you say one thing and do another

    So here we have it ... because you don't like me . . . . .
who said I didn't like you?

    So why me?
Because you are a tax advocate that dodges taxes. Is it legal? sure. Is it necessary? I don't think so. If you feel the rich should pay more in taxes, start with yourself. You don't HAVE to exploit the tax code to the max, you could just pay the 32%. But you don't, because you are a hypocrite. And all the phony altruism is transparent.

I will say it again, the reason that I don't want to raise the nominal rate on rich people like yourself, is because rich people like yourself then take steps to keep from paying those rates (am I wrong? I think we have demonstrated that already). Those steps tend to have an adverse affect on the economy as a whole, where the middle class are hurt the worse because the dollars don't flow.

Think about it for a minute, if we raised your tax rate to 100% and took away all of your deductions, what would happen? I will tell you. You would no longer earn any income, and simply live, tax free, off of what you already have.

And the rest of us would be fucked
