he is just in a position where his misguided ambitions can do far more harm.

seriously, if greg and i could tell that the stimulus was not going to produce enough jobs to stem rising unemployment, why did obama insist that it would keep unemployment far lower than 10%?? unemployment is worse WITH the stimulus than he predicted it would be WITHOUT the stimulus. despite this HUGE error and many others, so many still believe every claim he makes and ridicule those who challenge him.

my default position on the health care bill is that obama's numbers are about as accurate as his unemployment projections.

cap and trade?? the promise of green jobs?? good luck with that, more overly simplistic and optimistic projections that won't be close to the actual numbers.

this leaves us with the question...is obama simply unable to figure out the effects of his glorious plans, or is he the one who is conning us??

as i said in the beginning, i just don't think he is really very good at analyzing and drawing conclusions. his reliance on blaming others is a strong indication that he honestly believes his plans are great and the only reason for failure MUST be the actions of someone else. his EGO demands that he blame others and continue spouting his wrong headed BS as if it is the only way to salvation.

many of his followers are seeing the light, but many more refuse to remove their blinders and march faithfully onward.

Obama said that unemployment would say under 10% because if he said, "Oh yeah, it's TOTALLY going over 10%!" the Dow drops 500 points in 3 minutes. He probably should have just dodged the question because it's a lose-lose situation. Rookie mistake. Economic estimates are almost always subject to change. If this crap was easy, we all would have been living like millioniares fifty years ago. Don't blame Obama for systematic failures that he can't even affect.

Obama's biggest mistake was pussing out on the stimulus since it should have been three times bigger than it was or non-existent. Whatever lame compromises that the Democratic congress was forced to strike to stave off the GOP fillibuster (way to prioritize the need of Americans, assholes) should have been vetoed back in their faces. Of course, that would be political suicide, albeit correct.

Our "representatives" in Congress have done such a fabulous job of politicizing the health care debate and covering the collective ass of their respective special interest donors that this idea has been entirely lost. Personally, I couldn't care either way. If it went through, I wouldn't consider it any more of a waste of money than Medicare is right now.
