Call me crazy, and i know this will probably piss you off more.... but....

Smoking inside is disgusting, even if its a bar. People who don't smoke typically hate the smell of smoke. FL has had this law for a while now, with a few bars being an exception (the bars that sell NO food can have smokers). I hate going to a bar and going home and smelling like an ash tray. I have to wash my hair at least 2 times to get the smell out. I wash my clothes immediately to get the gross smell out so i don't have to smell it till laundry day (which is really only when jay decides to do it).

So, while i know this law makes smokers crazy, most of the non smokers are pretty darn happy about it. I know i love this law in my town.

They why go to a bar that allows smoking? If you hate it so much, just go to a bar that doesn't? That would be like people signing up HERE to protest internet gaming... It just makes no sense...

Not really. I go to a bar to drink.... not smoke. The point of a bar is to sell alcohol and buy alcohol. If i wanted a smoke shop, Id go to a smoke shop. I go to the bars because i love the bars. There are only a few places to sing karaoke so, that's why...

but there ARE non-smoking bars... so WHY would you intentionally go to one that allows smoking, only to complain about the smoke?

I should be able to go to any bar i choose without being overtaken by smaoke. Bar equals alcohol...not smoke. And, like i said, there are only a few places that do karaoke. This is a requirement for me...

Would you go into a hardcore metal bar, or bar that plays rap music and DEMAND that they change the music because you should be able to go to "ANY bar [you] choose without being overtaken by" the BARS choice of music?... It's BS hon, you're free to go where ever you want to so you hang out in your favorite non smoking bar, where I will NOT light up... and leave MY bar alone.

Lmao.... that's absurd!! If i went to a rap bar, id expect to hear rap music. If i went to a smoke shop, id expect to have smoke. I go to a bar, id expect alcohol. Its not BS. Im talking to my husband, he used to be a very heaver smoker. He remembers being soooooo pissed off at the new law. He no longer smokes, but told me you will never understand this as long as you smoke. You think smoking is a right..., but its really only a priveledge. If you think its your right to smoke where ever you want, then its my right to go where ever i want and not have second hand smoke in my face. I like my lungs... and you should be respectul of others who don't smoke. Its not a hard request that you take your smokes outside.

First off, I used to be a very heavy smoker, now I'm use an electronic cigarette, much healthier and no second hand smoke, so I can, legally do it wherever I wish... I can use My Ecig in an elementary school classroom (not that I ever would) and it's completely legal... Even when I was a heavy smoker I did not smoke around children, nor would I ever presume that I can smoke in the house of a non-smoker... I also wouldn't smoke in crowds. I was a VERY considerate smoker, because you're right in the fact that I don't have the right to subject someone to second hand smoke, who doesn't wish to be around it...

Even now, when I DO feel the desire for a good ol fashioned cigarette, I would never complain about a no smoking sign... If your business doesn't allow smoking, fine, that's your right as a business owner, but it is NOT right to regulate businesses where children are not welcome, in order to control the legal actions of adults. EVEN if those actions aren't healthy for them...

Where is the line drawn? Will we ban drinking in bars next? How about only allowing bars to serve two beverages (the maximum amount daily considered to be "safe" by most health experts) per customer?

Recently, it's been shown that poor dietary choices are a larger health risk then smoking.... Are we going to ban fried food in bars?

It's really simple a bar owner should be free to choose how they wish to run their business, if you don't like it, you can vote with your wallet by not going, as I, and many other smokers do by not going to non-smoking bars.
Good luck, Be well, and see ya'll round,
    D
