I feel a perma-bann coming as I just told Curt to fuck off in a personal message he sent me ..

Before I get booted I want you to know and correct something I said that left a impression that I didn't like the American troops ...

I don't support the American lock step when it comes to the modern service member who never sacrificed anything Like the drafted Vietnam troop did being at gun point forced to leave jobs and family so the chicken-hawlks could stay home and exploit them.

The moder troop is recruited and given plenty of warning that they may get killed. In exchange for this information they are offered benefits far beyond what a fire fighter or policeman will receive.

So I will not be forced to rollover every time the establishment wants me to in the name of patriotism.

I do feel compassion for the wounded and for those With PTSD, and would do everything within my power to see that they get the medical treatment necessary. However when they "volinteered" they took a job and deserve no more than anyone who leaves their job for another and therefore do not support them getting Vets services like those who served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam where more than 2/3 were drafted.

I agree with some of what you say. I would just say that it's the way you put it at times that tune people out or get them upset. Not saying you are wrong, I'm just expressing how I see it.

Nikki, you have a deep passion and conviction for certain things. I can totally relate. Everyone in here can probably relate. The dicference is the resr of us have learned to express our passions and beliefs, (whatever the subject may be) with respect. Yeah, we cal ALL get out of line with attacks and say things out of anger that maybe we shouldn't have (raises hand - guilty), but its really few and far between for most of us. It's every thread, every topic, and every conversation you engage in on here.

In my opinion, Certain people that choose to betray (especially in a public forum) what our country stands for and the brave soldiers who choose to enlist in the armed forces, should be ashamed. There are members of LP who are the proud parents, sisters, brothers, wives, husbands, etc. of these brave men and women; some of whom are fighting a war. I think every veteran, whether drafted or volunteer deserves every benefit they receive (and much more.)

Well said waggie . However, I would not want to see any one get banned . I think most enjoy the debates with Moab ,
altho it does get somewhat hot sometime in the pit. I have enjoyed reading the debates. We all just need to count to 10 and chose our words carefully before we respond.
