The truth is we really don't know how much power she has. Whatever degree that is, it's somewhat behind the scenes. She has been around a long time and has seen a lot from a Royal perspective. I wouldn't underestimate her influence or her ability to understand world affairs and The United Kingdom's role in those affairs! She is still the Queen and I believe her opinions may still mean something to some in the government.
The Queen has seen many Prime Ministers and Presidents come and go, and they all seem to consult with her from time to time. As I said, her opinions may carry some weight with some...in ways we might not fully understand. I would just leave it at that.
Shay you ar right! protocol prevents any PM (who meet her weekly) revealing any of their conservations but they let slip her 'knowlege of politics' is amazing. Then you have Charlie boy, in his 60's and still waiting to start work. Lampooned for the letters he writes, he gives his views on architecture, organicfarming etc:- and gets accused of abusing his power. OK life is a bed of roses for the selfish ones like Andrew was for Margaret and dare I say it? was for the saintly Diana , but for the Queen and Charles not the sort of life many would opt for.

Hey shay ... no really she has no power really just look it up, all she is a figure head of the good old days when the British Empire had world power. I will concede that she could dissolve Parliament if she wanted to oust the PM. However only one King did that and that was around 350 years ago.
