Thats unfortunate that you had a bad experience with one. Maybe she somehow felt threatened. Pitbulls are very loyal and sometimes very jealous.
And it's so very true that many breeds are bred for specific reasons. However, most of them still need to be trained to do whatever it is they are bred for. Shepherds are bred for herding. but the babies still need to taught what to do. You can't take a full grown shepherd outside who has never been taught how to do it and expect them to know exactly what to do. WHile they maye instincts, they still need to be taught, or they don't have to be taught at all.
I never once called you a racist. So, therefor I can't take anything you say serious because you obviously aren't even reading what I write.
Are you drunk or something? Cause these statements are just absurd.
Again... this is absurd and a little retarded.

i wouldn't have one. but if nicci or anyone else likes them and treats them well, that's their choice.
i think it all comes down to the fact that when they do "snap" the damage is quite considerable. i've been bitten by dogs a few times, all sweet adorable dogs that i guess had a bad moment. the difference is there was no major damage done. when pitbulls "snap" their instincts take over and they are very powerful dogs.
what matters most in life is honesty. it's never wrong to do the right thing.
LMAO J/K
I love all animals, especially big dogs of any breed. I think that it's important to establish early on who the "Alfa male" is. In other words they need to know that you're the boss, not them. And you don't need to beat them to do it, it's all about attitude.
As a pizza delivery guy many years ago, I had many a run in with big dogs that I found out later were suppossed to be "vicious", and never once had a problem. Now whether it had to do with the fact that I had food in my hand, or with the fact that I was never afraid of them, I don't know. Like I said, I love animals, so when I'd see the dog, usually come out of nowhere in the dark, I always spoke in a friendly voice calling the dog over to me, let him sniff me to know I wasn't afraid, then I'd exert my "alfa male" by telling them to sit. When they did, I'd reward them with a nice little scratch behind the ears, and what dog doesn't like that?
I also loved the look on some of the customers faces when they'd open the door and realize they forgot to chain up the dog. Some would even ask me how I managed to even get past the dog because they didn't like strangers. I'd just explain that, "I'm no stragnger, I'm his new buddy". LOL
You hit on a very good point. You weren't afraid of them. Dogs can smell fear like you wouldn't believe. With some of the bigger breeds that carry bad names, people are just automatically afraid of them and become tense. This can cause very aggressive behavior in dogs when they sense that fear. People pet Daisy when we are out all the time. When they find out what breed she is, they all just back away like she is a disease. They are scared.
