He announces yesterday cuts for SS, medicare and defense, but at the same time spends our money on useless hires to cover up the real unemployment problem. It amazes me when cuts are announced they-(political leaders both left and right)-want the public to suffer, but the billions upon billions spent on useless boards and fact finding bullshit stay in place and even create more. I doubt they will ever figure out THEY are the problem!

I am just glad this won't effect our elderly , the people that really need it!!!!!! Dam drying shame what he, and they, are doing to this country!!
They will make cuts to show they are making an effort, but they will not do anything to fix the debt which is attached to our money when it's created. I suppose if folks believe that we are born into sin, then perhaps it's makes sense for our money to be born into debt. lol I heard on the radio earlier that they are considering a $100m DoD cut. Really? That's all they can offer up?

In addition to cutting programs for the elderly, the deficit reduction commission proposes freezing military pay (no raises for active duty service members or cost of living increases for veterans). Prior to Nov 2, 2010 a full 44% of the members of Congress had a net worth in excess of a million dollars...they have no reason to be concerned about the elderly and military...each election they forget to send out the mail-in ballots or just choose not to count them.
Just pisses me off when they do this to the elderly, there are just so many other things that could be done. I never, ever, thought i would see the day american would treat the elderly as the are being treated. Fantastic men and women fought to make this country what it was, and i say was!! We may still be the best country, but give it time, and i am sorry to say we won"t be.
how about they just do a 20% across the board cut of EVERYTHING. OK, a few things could be cut less, some others more (like the exploding number of $150K plus civil servants)
between eliminating a few positions and paying government employees the same as private sector employees i think it would take care of a large chunk of the deficit. of course all of obama's SEIU friends and moab would have a fit!!
what matters most in life is honesty. it's never wrong to do the right thing.
