    Obama and Black Liberation Theology

How much of Pastor Jeremiah Wright's race-based "theology" does Barack Obama really share?

things often look much clearer in hindsight. odd how so many who dismissed obama's connections to wright are so eager to condemn the GOP candidates of 2011.

In 2008 America elected a president whose pastor for 20 years preached anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, advocated bizarre pseudo-scientific racial ideas, opposed interracial marriage, praised communist dictatorships, denounced black "assimilation," and taught Afrocentric feel-good nonsense to schoolchildren. When Americans discovered the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's views during the 2008 campaign, they rightly wondered if Barack Obama, like his pastor, really believed that HIV/AIDS was created by the American government to kill black people. Even to this day, no one knows for sure whether Obama shares the views of Wright, whom the Chicago Sun-Times once described as Obama's "close confidant."
Candidate Obama tried to distance himself from Wright's more damning comments. But, crucially, he didn't disown the pastor himself. In fact, in his rise to political fame, he had made Wright's sermons his own, drawing on Wright's "Audacity to Hope" sermon and appropriating its theme for his political coming-out speech at the Democratic National Convention in Boston in 2004. He even borrowed the sermon's title for his second autobiography, The Audacity of Hope, in a bid to get Wright and other black churches to support his candidacy.

The question is why Barack Obama, raised without any faith at all, chose one of the most incendiary preachers in Black America to preach the word of God to him. Wright became, in Obama's words, "like family to me. [Wright] strengthened my faith, officiated my wedding, and baptized my children." Obama told a group of ministers in June 2007 that Wright helped "introduce me to my Christian faith." But what, exactly, is Barack Obama's faith? Just as important, what is Jeremiah Wright's?
plenty of good information about wright and obama in the article. i challenge our resident "progressives" to read it!

Do you really expect a response? I've been asking for the last 5 years. He skirts every issue ie-abortion, homosexuality and says what he thinks will get him most votes, please don't throw his quotes at me because his words are meaningless. His actions throughout his Presidency have been anti-semetic and (I believe anti-American).

So, I assume it's ok if anyone reads it eh? lol I read it. I remember it coming up during the campaign and I recall it being played as though Wright went rogue, to Obama's dismay of course.

obama distanced himself, pretty much threw wright under the bus. i for one did not believe that wright had failed to have an influence on obama's views.

just read another article on income inequality that might help wright, ayers, obama and the occupy crowd figure out what really matters.

    How to succeed by merit

In the fabricated world of the Occupy Wall Street movement, there are two classes of people: the 99 percent and the 1 percent.

The problem with Occupy Wall Street is that it gets the notion of "class" wrong. Its adherents actually know this. No bearded misfit sitting in a festering tent on public property would say that Steve Jobs (whose product the bearded misfit uses to post his third-rate Marxist blogs) is no different from Bernie Madoff or Jack Abramoff. Jobs is not in the same "class" as Madoff and Abramoff. Jobs got rich making the world better for us. Madoff and Abramoff got rich by hurting others.

The bearded misfit, if he really thinks about it, doesn't care about the top 1 percent. He cares about those who are super-rich but shouldn't be. It is in this way (and perhaps only this way) that the protesters are old-fashioned Americans. They don't think it's right that people should get so much without earning it.
For this reason, breaking the world into two classes based on income misses the point. The more important class distinction is between those who have earned their success and those who haven't. In a recent article in The American, Steve Conover writes: "The true heroes in our economy are the producers and earners; they can be found all the way up and down the income ladder, and class warfare should defend and reward them instead of targeting them."

America isn't a land divided by the 99 percent and the 1 percent. It's a land divided by those who earn their success day after day and those who don't. This class distinction has nothing to do with how rich or poor you are. It has everything to do with what kind of person you are.
It's time to stop protesting a false premise and focus instead on promoting earned success. Do we need to end too-big-too-fail policies? Yes. Do we need to end harmful welfare programs? Yes. But most of all, we need to encourage earned success in our own homes. That's where the real change begins.
and this is the crux of my disdain for obama and the likes of wright and so many other "progressives". they don't understand the simple concept of "earning". if everyone is ENTITLED to a nice life just by being born, very few people will actually go out and earn their way through life.

FORK IN THREAD ... this one is done.

In fact Bluff ... No one ever proved that Wright preached anti Jewish threats or anti Jewish rhetoric. Wright never preached the overthrow of Israel.

What he was guilty of was according to Rush, Hannedy, et-all, was being Obamas spiritual leader in a time when they were looking for a Islam tie to Obama. So when Wright made a sermon where Israel was mentioned the rumors took off. Instead of throwing Wright under the bus and visa versa they decided to part ways ...

Please find something new or note worthy

Wright took it personal for a short while and then got over it ...
