No problem G.O.P. we'll be happy to help...

They want to make cuts in "entitlements". You know... Social security, medicare, medicaid, food stamps, etc.

I'm sure I speak for all of us that recieve these "entitlements" when I say that we're happy to help.

I realize that the richest 2% of our country desperately need the tax cuts we give them, even though so many of them don't actually pay much in taxes anyway thanks to all of the loopholes in the system. Not to mention all the money they keep in overseas banks that can't be taxed here. Speaking of which... they also want to cut funding to the IRS, so it'll be even harder to actually catch the tax cheats and make them pay their fair share.

    Not a problem.

Let's see... hmmmm, I recieve $674 a month SSI, plus $80 worth of food stamps. Surely I can afford to curb my extravagant lifestyle a bit. If it means more money for the wealthy, I'm happy to help.

Oh, and then there's the medicaid that I recieve. Even though most drs already don't accept it, and they're refusing to pay for the surgeries I've had, and the one I still need. I mean, after all, the surgery that I need is only my last chance at ever being able to lead a "semi"-normal life, and if successful, I might possibly even be able to go back to work again in some capacity, rather than lying in bed 99% of the time. But in the words of John Boehner,"so be it".

But hey, who am I to stand in the way of rich people. After all, it takes a lot of money to own several homes, take luxurious vacations, etc. And let's not forget the corporations that need tax cuts so they can hire new employees... in other countries.

So on behalf of myself and other disabled people, senior citizens, military vets, etc... We say,"you're welcome".

surely you must realize that there is no tax solution to our problems. the top 2% pay more than half of all income tax collected already, even doubling that would not solve the deficit/debt problem, even if there were no unintended consequences of doing that, which there would be. cry all you want, but social security is/was a ponzi me that is destined to fail. when it started there were 13 people paying for every one collecting, now it's less than three. now with the baby boomers starting to collect, it will soon be less than one to one. changes must be made, to deny that is to stick your head in the sand. blame the gop all you want, but it will still have to be done, no matter how much you try to tax the rich

Interesting, we seem to forget who started these "ponzi schemes" in the first place.

OK ... I'll bite ... who started these ponzi schemes in the first place?

I'd rather address the issue DJQ stated.

Why is it you would rather he not get the operation he needs so he can get off SSI and start earning a living and pay taxes and contribute to further the social safety net so more people like him can become productive again.

Let me tell you brothers and sisters ... having money, enough money that you don't worry about the rising cost of everything "is all it's cracked up to be." Yet it never amases me that people who struggle day-to-day just to pay rent or their mortgages, who wish to own a decent automobile send the children to a decent school and have health coverage then to top it off try and save for retirement .... all this and they are worried if I pay to much in taxes ... Thank you suckers ... and watch out because we the wealthy are going after more, like your savings and health insurance ... I don't want you scum in my hospital emergency room with your diseases ..

Thank you again ... now get out there and get me more tax breaks ... oil isn't going up fast enough.

I always wondered why you rich liberals dont just voluntarily pay more in taxes, sort of put your money where your mouth is, if you will. There are lots of you, why not take it upon yourselves? I'd love to here your answer to that one. You have so much yet weep for those that don't, and all you do is bitch about republicans. get off the stick and send in an extra 10% of that disposable income.

better still, go out and spend some of it on good old American made goods and services, get some of us back to work helping pull our weight instead of being a burden. you talk a good game Moab but it's all just empty talk, usual off point and just some more standard left wing rhetoric

First ... I drive a Ford E150 van but usually ride my 10 speed American (leopard) cycle around town. My kayak is American made and so is my Sotar raft. I use American made skis. My house was made in America a remodeled (with union labor) Craftsman Home. My clothing is usually tailored but I do shop off rack at The Bon ... I also love shopping 2nd hand fashion stores usually run by a charity like the SPCA. I always shop at top end food stores like Safeway or Albersons. I hire licenced lawn and garden people who come by once a week to maintain the lawn and keep the drip and sprinkler in a non water wasting mode of operation. I have a licensed handyman on call. My car gets a summer and winter tune up and oil changes at licensed mechanic shops. I donated my interest in the Central Oregon ranch to the Nature Conservancy. My 1/5th was valued at 500,000. Turning that into a bird sanctuary will employ people and when I die they will receive a additional 2 mil.

I donate to local charety what I need inorder to lower my tax rate which I'm sure is more than your yearly wages. I use the tax code to my advantage that's what it's for.

So please don't worry about me ... My three employees who I pay well above the going rate with benefits who run my recycled sporting goods store AKA the'... SECOND CHANCE ... consignment and end lot sales. During tax season I work for the family law firm where I prepare clients taxes before being sent to the CPA's office in the partnership. After that I do pro bono tax work for small chartable organizations ... those that can't afford the 200 per hour we bill out for tax prep. As you probably know corporations and business usually pay taxes at different times of the year, income is done from Jan 1 to April 15 ..

I still find time to invest in small business like I did in Patagonia where we took a licking .. I didn't do my do diligence and lost a bundle ... my fault not those who tried to get a guide service going there.

SOooo ... thank you for the concern about my paying so much in tax ... last year after all was said and done my 32 % was more like 8% ... I wished those partners had filed chapter 7 sooner I'd gone without paying a cent. But I'm gonna have one hell of a write off for 2011 ... Personal income that is.

Pretty generous with my money .. Why don't you spend some of that Blue State Welfare that allows you to sell bibles. Or do like I do support and vote in favor of medical for everyone.

EXACTLY the response I expeted. . . rich liberal hypocrite talks about taxing the rich all the while knowing just how to dodge any tax increase that might come of it. look at how many of my points you have proven in that entire statement, let me highlight a few

    1) the tax code effectively gets you to do what it is intended to

    2) raising the tax rates on the rich will not effectively raise revenues, because the rich always have ways around that, usually at the detriment to the economy and the well being of the rest of us.

    3) the class warfare from the left is just a smokescreen you hide behind so you can feel/seem superior

so go on rich liberal with your hollow rhetoric you know be to nonsense, you've shown your hand
