I really do not have a problem, as I understand it. but if the loop holes are still there for the rich," same old same oh " Where it would be equal for every one is on retail purchases. Guess I am limited to my knowledge on the OVERALL plan. Guess my question is, could it be any worse than what it is now or is that a dumb question.
the maximum tax rate anyone would pay would be 18%
the end goal is the fair tax and i've supported that for a long time.

Obviously, the details are important, but I think most here understand the basics more than Mitt Romney and Bachmann based on their stupid comments during the debate...
And the %s could be moved around slightly, but the important part is dumping our current tax code and starting fresh.
The consumtion tax will scare people, but they will have bigger paycheck to start then, so paying the tax becomes more in their control...buy a used car-no tax.......grow or kill your own food-no tax....and hopefully the single family home will not be taxed, but the 2nd vacation home will be...and I would hope that locally grown food from farmers markets would be exempt....
I haven't looked up the details of the consumption tax which would be the most important part to the working class
And I question the revenue stream from such low rates, even with no special interest and loopholes

people tend to repeat their mistakes simply because doing something different means uncertainty. keeping the current tax system and social security are flawed, but OMG what if the new plan is worse?? question is, what's worse that certain failure??
