Like San Francisco doesn't have enough problems….

The ultra libs on the leftist coast are trying to pass a law that would make ex-convicts a protected class, like race, sex, religion, and disability.

You can't smoke cigarettes in public there, but you can smoke marijuana in a park.

They tried to outlaw toys with Happy Meals, (it was barely defeated) but when they were holding discussions about proposing a law that would outlaw sleeping on the sidewalk, the protests were so vehement that the public comment period was cut off, and the discussion was dropped.

Now, they are trying to pass a law that would ban employers and renters from asking about the criminal past of applicants.

REALLY? How fucking stupid is that?

So if a guy that just got out of club fed for embezzlement went to apply at Bank of America, they don't get to know that he is a convicted ex-con for white collar theft.

A daycare manager can't ask if a applicant has ever been convicted of child abuse.

A ex-con that served time for breaking and entering can apply for a security guard job.

A home owner has no right to find out that a potential tenant ran a meth lab at the last house he rented.

Those fucktards have moved beyond stupid and into a realm of insanity that borders on suicidal. No wonder they gave us Pelosi.

I will say this, if that law passes, Nevada should institute a policy of giving every convict let out prison, a free bus ticket to San Francisco. Two birds, one stone.

it's san francisco paul. what do you expect?? funny how all the VERY expensive public toilets didn't solve the shit on the street problem even when they handed out free tokens to the urban campers. if not for the beauty of the natural setting san francisco would be one of the biggest hell holes on the planet. they do a pretty good job of keeping the tourist areas reasonably clean though ;-) just be careful what parts of golden gate park you wander through....

I docked on a USN troop ship at Ft Mason back in '63 on a return trip from Taipei...sadly that was the last time SF was an attraction for me. Since then I have been no closer than San Jose.

Hey, it's San Fransico. If you don't like it, don't move there. If you live there, move(like Doug did).
Don't like a TV or radio channel? Change it, don't censor it.
Don't like gay marriages? Don't get one.
Don't like cigarettes? Don't smoke them.
Don't like sex? Don't have it.
Don't like drugs? Don't do them.
Don't like porn? Don't watch it.
Don't like alcohol? Don't drink it.
Don't like guns? Don't buy one.

I have to agree with Doug though, even though I haven't been there since 1982, San fran is a beautiful city.

Besides, these days you don't have to ask a perspective hire questions like that. You can look it up on the internet in just a few seconds.

A few years back I was in Beaverton, OR (yes its a real city near Portland) and I got into an argument withMy hosts mother in law over our disagreement of a proposed local law which would ban convicted child molesters (not even ALL sex offenders, leading to questions of misunderstandings) from public pools and playgrounds.

I was in favor of it (though obviously, thankfully, not a resident) she thought it "violated their civil rights".

Ironically at about the time Savannah was considering banning them from county limits... (sadly, it did not pass because of pressure from neighboring counties fearing they'd move there... Grrrrrrrrrr.)
Good luck, Be well, and see ya'll round,
    D

Being from San Francisco I am all for sleeping wherever a person wishes, I am also for being able to hide you're criminal record when renting a apt. or home or applying for a job to classify people based on there history is clearly a violation of our civil rights in america,
I would hate to see people put on the streets or without a job based on history, so basically everyone (2 million people) in jail now in the U.S shouldnt be able to rent an apt. or get a job when they out?

Marijuana is a good thing cigarettes are a bad thing here in san francisco.
Now they are finding Marijuana oil is curing skin cancer
Weed smokers are also now proven to be 62% less likely to get cancers of the mouth neck throught ect.
