we know a "no fly zone" means flying over Libya and dropping bombs. And of course "peaceful protesters" and "civilians" is roughly translated to mean heavily armed and highly organised rebel troops with fighter planes and tanks!! but I didnt realise "no boots on the ground" and "no invasion" meant boots on the ground with an invasion of SAS smash squads.

The British soldiers are thought to have been on the ground for more than three weeks with Special Operations forces from other countries.

Its all perfectly legal of course, because someone said it was!! haha

Bad News for gaddafi though as they have insisted he is "not a target" ahem

n a nationally televised address the US president answered domestic critics who have questioned the reasons and goals of the mission.

Mr Obama said that allowing the Libyan leader's forces to enter the rebel-held city of Benghazi would have "stained the conscience of the world", and resulted in a massacre that would have offered a green light to other dictators in the regions to commit violence against their peoples.

"In the past, we had seen him hang civilians in the streets, and kill over a thousand people in a single day," he said.

Saying that the US and its allies have "stopped Gaddafi's deadly advance", he said that although crisis in Libya was not a direct threat, it was in America's broader interests to take action.

"It is true that America cannot use our military wherever repression occurs," he said. "And given the costs and risks of intervention, we must always measure our interests against the need for action. But that cannot be an argument for never acting on behalf of what's right. In this particular country - Libya - at this particular moment, we were faced with the prospect of violence on a horrific scale. We had a unique ability to stop that violence.
Like UK and France-Tommy the Guesser- we went to war, the excuse was 'We thought things may happen if we didn't! And yet again we have "εἰμὶ κριτής, δικαστής, και δήμιος" I am the judge, the jury and the executioner'
