I've been pretty outspoken against unions in previous threads, so my anti-union/pro business stance should come as no surprise. But this, to me, takes the cake.
Without threatening any existing jobs, the Boeing Company built a new factory in S.C. to build it's Dreamiliner 787. This move was spurred on by excessive labor costs due to an aggressive labor union, and their efforts to not only hold the company hostage, but they went as far as insisting on a seat on the Board.
So they sought more advantageous locations to build. They are after all competing with government subsidized European competition, and they need to do what they need to do to stay in business. All of their employees depend on it.
So the union in Seattle has filed a complaint with the NLRB, and in turn they have filed suit against the Boeing Co. to force them to bring those jobs to Washington.
Is that fair? Is this going to far? Doesn't a company have a right to set up shop where it feels is best?
