95% of people can't think for themselves, they to be faced with binary choices. Basically they are just smart enough to pick what they prefer from a choice of 2 or 3. They just dont have the power to have an original thought

I assume Skyguy prefers Republicans to Democrats. If I could be bothered to trawl through his posts (which I cant) I would not expect to find any posts seriously faulting his beloved Republican Party humourous or otherwise.

Ohhhh yes you would, as I'm fairly sure the re-pukes are just as bad as dem-dummies...it's all the same. They-(all politicians)- LOVE the two party system for the exact reasons you stated above, knowing very few will think outside the box and accept option A or B period.

speaking of binary choices, there is one right there^^ (MF's post, not the one skyguy snuck in)

pointing out the BS of obama (choice A) does not automatically mean one sings the praises of the republicans (choice B)

it seems neither motherfunky or precious few of the political establishment understand the frustrations of the american public and what is the very simple reason why both bush and the republicans got the boot in 2008 and why obama and the dems are going to lose their majority in congress in november.

saddest of all is that it's so, so, so simple. and yet goes right over the head of most of the ruling elite, the media, and probably about half of the 40% who still support obama.

you would think that MF of all people would be happy because what is going on (and going right over the heads of so many) is a rejection of business as usual in washington. obama won because people were fed up and desperately wanted change. (hence he had an easy sell) sadly his brand of change was not exactly what many who voted for him had in mind and the frustrations that led to his election have grown deeper and there is more clarity about what really needs to be done.

it's such a simple message, amazing that so many don't get it. stop the tax and spend power grab. let a few simple values guide what goes on in washington. do what is right for the nation and what is right for the individual. such a plan would be far simpler if not for the current financial box that we are in, but it is still possible. nobody wants to be a slave to the national debt, so they quickest way to lose in november is to support the current spending policy. wanna win?? freeze the budget and let the economy grow. challenge the mentality that says not getting an 8% budget increase is a "cut". all the public employees, all the government programs need to learn how to exist in the real world where there are no guaranteed raises and figure out how to live/provide services on a budget.

in short, it's about two of the simplest values. personal responsibility and living within ones means.

those in power don't like it because doing these thing makes it a bit more difficult for them to control you.

that's why it seems odd that MF of all people does not seem to get it. what's going on now is right up his alley. it's not a complete solution to the control the ruling elites wield, but it's a good first step. :-)

I might be wrong but I suspect Skyguy and possibly yourself voted for McCain in the last election, if not im impressed, but lets not pretend everyone has rejected the Establishment candidates promoted by the CFR mainstream media, after all it wasn't that long ago people were laughing at Ron Paul and voting for McCain or Obama was it.

And although I agree with alot of what you say especially about individual independence and the joys of small Government, the idea that a knight in shinning armour will GIVE you the choice of no Debt, or less Government control just to win votes is just naive. You will be given someone like Obama who says one thing and does another as you well know. The Establishment give you front men and have a popularity contest to see which one you like the look of, like a Roman Centurion would discard his shield when it became badly damaged in Battle just to pick up a new one so the Rulling elite discard their latest front man only to replace him with another of your choice.

That's the idea of elections, its to stop revolutions, you think its going to change something but it wont. People wont support en masse the man who has an honest track record because he's labeled a loser or crazy by the media which you know is full of spin.

I do see people getting upset but I believe rather than waking up to the BIG picture they are simply reacting to the symptoms of a thieving tyranny, ergo having less wealth for themselves.

those in power don't like it because doing these thing makes it a bit more difficult for them to control you.

that's why it seems odd that MF of all people does not seem to get it. what's going on now is right up his alley
What is going on Doug is probably the biggest shift in wealth away from the ordinary voting pleb ever, thats not particularly "up my alley"

stop the tax and spend power grab - Yes but when old boy??

it's not a matter of when, that's the easy part.

the how is what is difficult. the current system allows for limited choices, choices that don't much matter because to a great extent those choices are only the illusion of choice.

for now the american people are waking up a bit. might not be terribly effective to try and make significant change while doing so through a corrupt system, but other than complete revolt and the chaos that would ensue what are the alternatives??

working within the system is going to be a slow process and may fail entirely, but it's better than doing nothing. even if the results are negligible, at least it shows an increase in awareness.
