    Interesting Statistics

Interesting statistics: A recent "Investor's Business Daily" article provided very interesting statistics from a survey by the United Nations International Health Organization.

Percentage of men and women who survived a cancer five years after diagnosis:
    U.S. ..........65%
    England .....46%
    Canada .....42%

Percentage of patients diagnosed with diabetes who received treatment within six months:
    U.S. ..........93%
    England .....15%
    Canada .....43%

Percentage of seniors needing hip replacement who received it within six months:
    U.S. ..........90%
    England .....15%
    Canada .....43%

Percentage referred to a medical specialist who see one within one month:
    U.S. ..........77%
    England .....40%
    Canada .....43%

Number of MRI scanners (a prime diagnostic tool) per million people:
    U.S. ..........71
    England .....14
    Canada .....18

Percentage of seniors (65+), with low income, who say they are in "excellent health":
    U.S. ..........12%
    England .......2%
    Canada .......6%

I don't know about you, but I don't want "Universal Healthcare" comparable to England or Canada. Moreover, it was Sen. Harry Reid who said, "Elderly Americans must learn to accept the inconveniences of old age.

" SHIP HIS ASS TO CANADA OR ENGLAND!

He is "elderly" himself but be sure to remember his health insurance is different from yours as Congress has their own high-end coverage! He will never have to learn to accept "inconveniences"!!!

This final statistic, although not health related, is VERY INTERESTING!

The percentage of each past president's cabinet who had worked in the private business sector prior to their appointment to the cabinet. You know what the private business sector is... a real life business, not a government job.

    Here are the percentages.
    T. Roosevelt........ 38%
    Taft.....................40%
    Wilson .................52%
    Harding..................49%
    Coolidge.............. 48%
    Hoover................. 42%
    F. Roosevelt......... 50%
    Truman..................50%
    Eisenhower........... 57%
    Kennedy.............. 30%
    Johnson.................47%
    Nixon................... 53%
    Ford..................... 42%
    Carter.................. 32%
    Reagan...................56%
    GH Bush................. 51%
    Clinton ................. 39%
    GW Bush................ 55%

And the winner of the Chicken Dinner is:
    Obama................ 8% !!!

Yep! That's right! Only Eight Percent!!!..the least by far of the last 19 presidents!! And these people are trying to tell our big corporations how to run their business? They know what's best for GM...Chrysler... Wall Street... and you and me? How can the president of a major nation and society...the one with the most successful economic system in world history... stand and talk about business when he's never worked for one?.. or about jobs when he has never really had one??! And neither has 92% of his senior staff and closest advisers! They've spent most of their time in academia, government and/or non-profit jobs....or as "community organizers" when they should have been in an employment line.

    America, vote the bums out!!!

Just pointing out the lies.. Because those type of lies are directed at me and anyone else who is trying to do something different. If you have a comment on the "International" health organization feel free to do so. I guess the reason the Canadians won so many gold was they have better health care and their sprains, strains and fractures heal better than ours.

I might add was the winner of the chicken dinner necessary ... I say it's outright racist what say you?

Update: I received the stats from someone I shall no longer trust as I am unable to find the original source. Kindly disregard, and thanks Moab for pointing out the lies.

    From UrbanDictionary.com...

    Winner Winner Chicken Dinner
The legend tells that years ago every casino in Las Vegas had a three-piece chicken dinner with a potato and a veggie for $1.79. A standard bet back then was $2, hence when you won a bet you had enough for a chicken dinner. !”

BTW I have asked a Mod to close or delete this thread.

Sure I'll buy the chicken dinner crap when I see you go ethnic on some white president like Bush with awarding him a redneck bbq and LoneStar beer. How about beens and franks for the new Mass. Senator. Did you ever award Kennedy with a New England Boiled Dinner...

The only thing missing from the racist remark ...aka chicken dinner was desert of wa..mellon.

So don't get cancer in Wales! Actually the Welsh (myself included) have a tendency to think 'Just get on with things -it will go away) reluctant to admit anything may be wrong.

just curious if anyone knows any of the actual stats from the "article" ??

i checked one that i figured would be pretty easy and found this:

the U.S. performed more than three times the number of exams, reporting 83.2 MRI exams per 1,000 population in 2004-2005, compared to 25.5 in Canada and 19.0 in England
that's from an article bragging that canada's MRI machines log heavier use than those in the U.S. well, duh...how do individual machines have heavier use when only 1/3 the number of exams are done per 1,000 people?? way fewer MRI machines.

as with most internet chain e-mails, there is some truth.
what matters most in life is honesty. it's never wrong to do the right thing.
