Wrong again .. you ever join a union? If you haven't I'll let you in on this .. Unions must follow all laws, Federal, State and local they cannot violate a law in carrying out the contract. SOoooo .. all members must be legal to work in America.

right, just like business that are supposed to check documents...but don't. if you believe unions are 100% honest then i have to wonder about your objectivity.
took me just a few seconds to find this story...
Unions Sue to Save Illegal Aliens
i also found this...Some 12% of all unionized members at the five plants organized by the UFCW were found to be here illegally.
Nonetheless, the union has been vigorous in its defense of its undocumented workers. The union spokeswoman, Jill Cashen, quickly announced that the union’s lawyers would go to federal court to block the deportation of the almost 1,300 workers snared in the raid.
so who is right and who is wrong??Thanks to a loophole in the 1986 law that made it illegal to hire an illegal alien, it is perfectly legal for a union to provide membership to an illegal alien.
But the answer is for the unions to throw every bit of their influence behind passing a mandatory E-Verify bill which would begin to drive illegal foreign workers out of the labor market. Instead, the unions have been fighting E-Verify.

what matters most in life is honesty. it's never wrong to do the right thing.
I do know about that case. I also know as pointed out the illegals were undocumented with false credentials. In defense of the union it's their sworn right to defend and dues paying member and members in right to work states who opt out.
Also I might add nowhere does it insinuate that the union was involved in allowing the company to hire. You see the union doesn't hire workers it finds members that can be sent to an employer who screens the applicants and it's the employer to make sure the documentation and background checks are done according to law. The union does not due background checks it's not their job and they don't do drug screening that an employer responsibility what the union does is makes sure the employer isn't using back ground checks against certain employees and the same goes for drug testing.
I would like the law you found with the 1986 loophole.
You can google this which is required in all union contracts. Nothing in this contract may violate any Federal, State or Local law in enforcing this collective bargaining agreement. So Doug what that means if the US government requires all employees working in America to be legally documented or a citizen of the USA that loophole is closed. If there ever was one.
E-Verify, I looked that one up .. smells like a red haring not sure though I only searched the political actions of the Teamsters and UAW.
I'm glad everyone follows the law
