    I voted!!

So yesterday Trauma and I went ahead and cast our votes here in Vegas. This thread is not about the candidates, so I will leave you guessing on who I chose.

Anyhow, the new Escan voting system was great, but I think can be really confusing for many people. It prints out your votes on a separate piece of paper that you can view through a window to confirm your choices, then you can decide to cast your ballot or correct anything. Your info is preloaded into something that looks like a credit card that you stick in the machine. Truthfully, the whole time I was voting I was thinking about perhaps someone elderly just not having a clue how to work the newest voting system. I swear, I am not a moron, but if you so much as brush your finger over a candidate's name, it auto selects it for you and poof you are on the next question with no opportunity to go back unless you print it out in the end.

Also, I did not intend on voting. We went to the supermarket and this lady asked if we wanted to vote. I said I had no ID from Nevada on me and she asked if I had my ballot. No, of course, I don't carry it around with me. I asked if I needed to go to my polling place since this was the other side of town. No... I gave them my name, no ID, not even where I had just recently registered in Nevada from Cali and they sent me on my way to vote.

The great news is its over with. I have no lines to deal with and I even got the "I voted" sticker.

I'm curious if any of you have tried the new system. Don't get me wrong. I think it can prevent potential counting errors, etc, etc,... Overall I liked it. Just wanted to get other people's take.

Vote by mail baby. Paper form. Easy. No postage required. (lots of faith in the postal service IS required though )

I think i will mail mine in Berkeley so the dolts at the post office will assume it is a lefty vote and make sure it gets delivered properly.

Does anyone else see the possibilities of irregularities in voting by mail?? I'd probably vote in person, but living in a liberal district in California my votes don't really matter anyways

I haven't voted yet, but the place you vote here is at my school and I have to watch those elderly people walk out of there. They often look confused, but it makes me laugh.

I ran into a man there at my school (he was black) who was trying to get in through the side of the building. Well, you need a key to get in that door. Anyways, to make a long story short, he asked me who I was voting for. I told him McCain. He smiled and said, "I think I am the only black man voting for McCain". I giggled and said, you are probably right. Well, this black woman was behind him and heard his response. She immediately yelling, "Whhhhat??? Oh no you didn't. You gotta stick with tha brutha!!! Who do you think you are? A white guy in a business suit?....." She went on and on about she can't believe she isn't voting for the black man to win "that chair". She was absolutely CLUELESS!!!!! It was amusing and annoying all at the same time.

I voted absentee. The reason being I am usually gone during election times so once you file for absentee, that is what you always get. Since my circumstances have changed, I will re register and vote in person.
