NEW YORK — Sen. Charles Schumer is calling for better rail security now that the raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound has turned up plans to attack trains in the U.S.

“Anyone, even a member of al-Qaida could purchase a train ticket and board an Amtrak train without so much as a question asked,” Schumer said. “So that’s why I’m calling for the creation of an Amtrak no ride list. That would take the secure flight program and apply it to Amtrak trains.”

This is a perfect example of how fucking stupid many politicians are.

Approximately 27 million people ride Amtrak a year.

Approximately 5 to 7 million people ride the subways in New York EVERY DAY.

And this dick head Schumer wants to institute airport-like security to the only relatively hassle-free form of transportation left to the public.

Amtrak is already losing billions of dollars a year, and Schumer wants to make it more inconvenient, and more expensive for people to travel on trains? I thought the tree huggers wanted to encourage the masses to use mass transit? How is being subjected to a pat down before boarding a train going to encourage it's use?

Here's an idea for you Schumer…… why don't we institute the current security used for train travel at the airports. Do away with the TSA, the body scanners, and the latex clad glove squeezing my balls, and go back to the security we had in 1965. That would suit me just fine.

Excuse me .... I was against the Homeland Security Act and Secure Ports Act just because of the deleting of American civil rights. A conspiracy is when more than one person colludes to do something illegal, like say for instance Invade Iraq, or set up torture camps, or facilitate the whole 911 coincidence, if thats what happened. And it does look as though thats what happened to be fair.

It's only a theory if unproven therefore there is no conspiracy theory about Iraq or Afghanistan and as far as I know and I'm sure I'm right about this ... Iraq was no conspiracy it was done in the open with the approval of both Houses of Congress and the people.

The method used that lead up to the Iraq war may include a conspiracy because of the PNAC papers. Which give some credibility to Bush's involvement (or lack of) in the destruction of the twin towers when he was warned that bin Laden was targeting something big here. ..

Another conspiracy is the secret oil meeting between Cheney and Big Oil and the Supreme Court added credence to that when they ruled in the administrations favor.

The killing of bin Laden is not a conspiracy as the administration released details after the raid .. Some details were sketchy and that's true, however none the less Obama went public. And because of the nature of the raid it's plans leading up to the raid was kept secret for over 6 month but released on the same day of the action.

A theory is a supposition based on the available evidence, as in "the theory of evolution"

A belief such as Saddam Hussein had WMDs or alCIAduh want to kill you because you have "freedom" is an idea that is handed down to you in your particular culture. Such as Creationism for instance, if say you were Religious.

A group openly planning a war is not a conspiracy ... and WMD's were not one also. As I mentioned a conspiracy is something done in secret.
