Gendrich, recently said at one of those political forums that he had sinned against his wifes and others. “But” he said I prayed for Gods forgiveness … So how would he know if God forgave or for that matter how would we know?

What if God didn’t forgive can or may we in defiance of god? What should we do if he didn’t?

Well you can do whatever you like then say 'God told me to do it!' or you can think before asking ridiculous questions.

According to most Christian faiths, God forgives those who ask to be forgiven. It is considered an absolute, so we can assume God did forgive him. Whether we choose to forgive him is completely up to us.

Holy shit, you mean all this time I could have been blaming things I do wrong on "god told me to do it" and also ask for forgivness....damn!

God forgives those who ask to be forgiven

Not strictly accurate 'repent'is different to 'asking forgiveness' especially as most are only sorry when they are 'found out'.

It is my understanding that repenting isn't necessary to be forgiven . .

According to Christians, acts of repentance do not earn God's forgiveness from one's sin; rather, forgiveness is given as a gift from God to those whom he saves. Acts 11:18--"Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life." 2 Tim. 2:25 -- "If God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth." Acts 5:30, 31. In this view, people are called upon to repent in order that we may feel our own inability to do so, and consequently be thrown upon God and petition Him to perform this work of grace in our hearts

I'm no expert on theology though
