In all of our religious arguments, I don't think we have explored this one completely. Does the Bible really say the Earth is only 6000 years old? Are scientist's right in saying the Earth is about 4.5 billion years old? What is your opinion on this? Can a person believe the Earth is billions of years old and still believe in the God of the Bible?

i believe it is 4.5 billion years old and that the universe is 13 billion years old....

4.5 billion years.and yes you can still believe in god and the bible.When the bible was written people still believed the world was flat.In the case of Noah's flood,There whole world might HAVE been flooded...Just an example.Think about it

Me and my dad had a heated argument over this exact subject.

If as bluffman believes the Earth is 8.5 Billion younger than the Universe then by definition he must be suggesting everything on the earth including whatever sparked Life and evolution originally came from outer space. So bluffman believes we originated from outer space!!
As I can read minds bluffman also believes there are hundreds of billions of other Suns and many more planets orbiting them LOL... Bluffman is one step away from doing some maths and telling us there are space aliens living somewhere in outer fuckin space.
