How Much Are You Truly Worth ..... As a productive member of the work force ..$12,266

Like the title suggest, you as a working person are you happy with your wages?

If your employer ask you t do a give back in wages and benefits so he or she could spend that money on upgrades and with those upgrades he or she may employ more people. Would you give take backs?

Lets say you work in grocery ... you make 9.50 per hour and only get 30 hours per week and your employer ... hummm ... lets say Safeway, ask for wage roll backs of 10% in order to hire more employees ... is this a reasonable request?

Would it be OK in your opinion to have your employer come to you directly and ask you to vote for tax cuts for him or would you find this offensive?

If your employer is Union in a non right to work state and that employer is doing well in this economic market but decides he can do better if he closes shop and moves to a right to work state and he ask you to make the move knowing you would take a pay cut lose most all of your health care but you are assured he or she will hire more employees and reduce the work week to keep them employed ... Would you do it?

If you are making 27,431 dollars per year today what would that have been in wages for the same job 30 years ago?

Never, I always want more . . . it's really not the money so much as it is how we keep score

Not likely. Plus this notion you seem to be putting forth about giving up some pay so that more people can have jobs is a socialist notion I can't get behind. What would be better is if the employer took out a line of credit and made those improvements, so that they could increase production, so there would be a need for more employees, and so that the company could go stronger.

No and it's not a realistic scenario either. If he were to say stop paying for medical insurance or some other perk like that, well I would have to consider the big picture before deciding what to do, but there is little chance that I would sit still for a reduction in real wages, period

Would it be OK in your opinion to have your employer come to you directly and ask you to vote for tax cuts for him or would you find this offensive?
he could ask, I might even tell him I would. shine job though

of course not. reducing my hours to hire more people? communism to me. and no unless he was paying my moving expenses and offering me other incentives I would say good bye, it's been swell

It is truly amazing how you can jump to this conclusion just because nobody replied to YOUR thread within ~4 hours. How about answering your own question honestly within this thread as well? Unless of course your statement above also applies for you.

Did I sound enough like a supply-sider for you?

Instead of asking the workers why not ask the investors if they'd be happy to have 10% less return on their investment?

ps When possible I buy 'fairtrade' products.

After a disastrous experience trying to get into Adventure Travel I reevaluated my life priorities and came to the conclusion to sell off all my business holdings and live the good life ... I'm very content playing golf and posting on this forum.
