This video was from May of 2010 I think.

This Press Release was issued from Solyndra yesterday morning

I thought this line was curiously familiar........

“Regulatory and policy uncertainties in recent months created significant near-term excess supply and price erosion. Raising incremental capital in this environment was not possible. This was an unexpected outcome and is most unfortunate.” said Solyndra’s president and CEO, Brian Harrison.
Nah, just a coincidence I guess....

It never ends, and never will until it falls apart or a full revolt takes place, but the sheeple will never do that, the political and financial powers know that.

    ABOUT THIS FAST ...

The man Congress put in charge of auditing the billions of dollars dumped on Iraq after Saddam Hussein was toppled has told the Los Angels Times he can't rule out the possibility that $6.6 billion in cash sent from the U.S. was stolen.
Special inspector general for Iraq reconstruction Stuart Bowen told the Times the missing money may represent "the largest theft of funds in national history."
It was not, it is crucial to note here, U.S. tax-payer dollars which have gone missing in Iraq. The money came from a special fund set up by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York with Iraq's own money -- funds which were withheld from the nation during a decade of harsh economic sanctions under Saddam.
Now, and here's the real kicker, Iraq wants it's money back. The Los Angeles Times says some officials in Baghdad have threatened to take the U.S. government to court to reclaim the missing loot. The last known holder of the funds, before they mysteriously disappeared into the dusty oblivion of post-war Iraq, was the U.S. government.
"Congress is not looking forward to having to spend billions of our money to make up for billions of their money that we can't account for, and can't seem to find," Rep. Henry A. Waxman (D-Calif.) told the Times. Waxman was head of the House Government Reform Committee which held hearings on U.S. waste, fraud and abuse in Iraq about six years ago.
Bowen has been a harsh critic of the way the U.S. government spent money in Iraq following the ouster of Saddam.
Speaking to CBS News correspondent Lara Logan in July 2009, he warned that "billions of dollars were wasted in the Iraqi reconstruction enterprise," and said a whole new approach was needed in Afghanistan.
    Waste, fraud plague Iraq reconstruction
As for the missing $6.6 billion, Bowen did not tell the Times whom he believed might have made off with the tremendous sum of neatly packaged blocks of $100 dollar bills.
For almost a decade, when audits and reports surfaced about money being misspent or wasted in post-war Iraq, the finger has generally been pointed first at the generic "corrupt Iraqi officials," of which there are no-doubt many. But as the Times points out in its report Tuesday, "some U.S. contractors were accused of siphoning off tens of millions in kickbacks and graft during the post-invasion period."
The money in question was literally air-lifted into Iraq by the George W. Bush administration, which flew it into Baghdad aboard C-130 military cargo planes. Bush White House officials were worried in the immediate aftermath of Saddam's fall that Iraqis would revolt if salaries weren't paid and services deteriorated. In total, the Times says $12 billion in cash was flown into Iraq in 21 separate C-130 flights by May 2004.
All the missing money went to Cheny and Bush.

How do you compare a multinational war with a puny solar company that employed 1100 people?

Solyndra was held up by Obama to be the future of American Jobs, the future of American Manufacturing, and the pathway to revitalizing the American Entrepreneurial spirit. Well, they got the raising money part right. It's interesting that one of the reasons they gave for their failure was "Regulatory and policy uncertainties in recent months created significant near-term excess supply and price erosion. Raising incremental capital in this environment was not possible." That sounds a lot like the accusations about how Obama is killing jobs.

Sorry, Iraq is irrelevant, off topic, and past history. I was discussing Obama's failed stimulus attempts and his insistence that we continue on with more failures of this type.

    Its all smoke & mirrors.
Green jobs, like wind-farms for example, are still being fought against tooth&nail by the oil & gas lobby. They may not be front & center, but ya gotta know damn well they're pulling the strings of the people who are.
Rich fat-cats like T-Bone who are now advocating for 'greener' power sources really couldn't give a shyte. He's made his BILLIONS;lived his 90 decades. Why is he just now purporting to care??Smoke n mirrors!

Every year the equivalent of SEVEN Exxon Valdez' oil spills are dumped into the water supply of the USA.You just don't hear about it 'cuz it don't make for good TV'.No oil-soaked waterfowl,no drowned sea-otters,no angry fishermen.& yet it continues, day after day.

Me?I subscribe to the George Carlin Philosophy that states,"as a species, human beings are CTD-circling the drain-we're goin' away"

Ive tried to post a link on another thread, but im kind of an old dog when it comes to learnin' new tricks. If you're somewhat open-minded(& like a good laff) go to Utube & watch...

Sure .. You ask how fast and I showed you.

    Here is my answer ...

In a blog posting, Energy Department spokesman Dan Leistikow said Solyndra was a once promising company that had increased sales revenue by 2,000 percent in the past three years. The $535 million loan guarantee was sought by both the Bush and Obama administrations, he said, and private investors put more than $1 billion into Solyndra.
Now more important to me is why are we not protecting our industries from China. Chinese competitors built cheaper products. The price for solar panels has dropped by about 42 percent this year. Don't you wish gas prices would do the same.

I know this makes you happy and you can continue your attacks on the president. Just remember all it does it makes you look like is a bigger asshole.

Why aren't you pissed about taxpayer dollars being paid to religious or faith based groups to the tune of 40 billion? That's right Bush passed into law in 2004.

"We want to fund programs that save Americans
    one soul at a time."
President George W. Bush, January, 2004, in a speech in New Orleans

How about faith based taxpayer funds building and operating a prison. In Lawtey, Florida, Gov. Jeb Bush dedicated what is being called the nation's first religion-based prison. A North Florida prison will be converted into the nation's first faith-based lockup. Critics say public money shouldn't be spent on religious programs.

SOoo ... this won't piss you off but a government and private investor backed program that if it worked ( it hasn't failed yet chapter 11 has turned around many companies ask the Donald.) would produce jobs and repay the inverters. Yet you glee in the potential failing and seeing 1100 more people lose their jobs to cheap Chinese crap...

So again I say fuck you ... you pathetic asshole ...

Ooh ... I gotta add the Government has been granting loans to businesses for decades some have failed and some haven't.
