    HEY ... wing-nuts please splane

Nut thegitrich ...and how his lobbying butit's not lobbying For Freddy MAC ...
Tuesday that the former House speaker made between $1.6 million and $1.8 million in consultation fees in a nine-year span. Sources told Bloomberg that in 2006, Gingrich was asked “to build bridges to Capitol Hill Republicans and develop an argument on behalf of the company’s public-private structure that would resonate with conservatives seeking to dismantle it.”
.... Hummm and the Old Nut claims the liberasl were the bad guys in the housing colapse.

    this is a stretch IMO

First off, paying someone as a consultant who is not a member of congress is not lobbying. If the money went to elected officials, you might have something. But paying a couple hundred K a year for input and to help create dialogue is not shocking at all.

What influence did they think they were getting from a guy who has no real influence on the hill anymore?

No quid pro quo here, if Newt was actually in congress there might be something here, or if you can show that a significant amount of that money made its way to GOP candidates/officials

yep, "the machine" is already trying to destroy newt.

problem is, everyone already knows he's been around the block and played dirty at times. it's why his support was so low at the start. that makes him kinda bullet proof unless something new and very large is discovered.

i'm surprised they haven't tried to tie him to the penn state child rape coverup yet...lol...

No not even I think he's lower than a whale shit pedophile. I think what will come back and haunt him is his leading the charge to impeach Clinton while having an affair while his wife lay dying in a hospital.

Only time and a investigation will tell if he's consulting (giving advice) or lobbying (getting advice) but non the less he was involved with Freddy while they were dealing in toxic loans.

The lefties might try to make this case, same as you, because they want to distract from the truth by claiming he was impeached for having an affair, which is not the case. He was impeached (and disbarred) for lying under oath in a civil case,

"Involved" is a huge stretch. There are many who have actual oversight that are to blame for those "toxic" loans, most of them on the left who were pushing for home loans for poor people who couldn't afford them.

Did I say affair? No I said Nut had an affair while leading the impeachment charge. The lie came from constant badgering from the right about an affair between two consenting adults. None of the people who were in the impeach lynching party who had affairs and were later ask about them were willing to disclose saying that is was none of their business .. The process against Clinton started with White Water Gate and a six year non stop attempt to remove Clinton from office. Which failed and cost the taxpayers millions ...

Now you gotta prove to me that anyone on the left was pushing loans ... I mean like show me the goods through links where a leftist sez .... go get that free home poor person ... Bush was the president and he was along with the rest of congress and that includes the left were profiting from the good times before the housing burst. Now you that the bubble burst while your party was in office you want none of it ... Sorry but everyone has plenty of blame to share. Including you and I.

Then why does it matter if you aren't trying to point to hypocrisy? talking out of both sides of your mouth now.

the Clintons were involved in plenty of shady dealing, only someone with a big case of denial could think it was all just a witch hunt by the right. Investigators followed the leads and those leads led from one thing to another.

The impeachment was for a lie on a deposition, charges of perjury and obstruction. He lied about his fidelity while being sued for sexual harassment, a case which he settled for $850K. So while you and other lefty hypocrites bad mouth Cain for alleged acts, you downplay actual acts that the great Clinton did as if it's ok. Typical.

Agreed, but how is any of it Newt's fault?

First if you me to act with civility then don't refer to me as a person who speaks from both side of the mouth .. That's first of all something that maybe a ventriloquist does.

Of all that investigation I believe that all they (bill) were guilty of was a sex scandal. Someone in his administration was fround to have done some wrong doing but it wasn't related to Clinton ..

    Cain is done insert fork.

Impeached for a civil crime that had nothing to do with running this country. You know my party had the votes and support to impeach Bush, my party chose the high ground and said america had enough of Bush and they were done with it ... That's what the left did and does. It also would have made a martar of Bush like the impeachment did for Bill.

IMO what Newt has done is simply call it "consulting" instead of lobbying...same thing, different name.

WTF...you really believe Newt has no or little influence on the hill...come on Curt.
