    Global Scaring

Read the following carefully, it isn't about UFOs or pixie dust its what the Club of Rome a very important think tank you know like PNAC were, have to say about global warming.

Back in 1992 they published a major report entitled " The First Global Revolution".

Here is a quote " It would seem that humans need a common motivation, namely a common adversary to organize and act together in the vacuum; such a motivation must be found to bring the divided nations together to face an outside enemy, either a real one or else one imagined for this purpose"

Here is another quote "in searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine, and the like would fit the bill"

Dont take my word for it, read the report yourself and look up the CoR members.

Chicken Little rides again? I never bought into Global Warming; I have read all the arguments and I still haven't.

Spaceboy dear, must you always muddy the water with facts?

I have seen all the facts to date. I have seen all the pictures to date. I'm still not buying into man-made global warming.

The only difference is in your mind. Do I believe the climate on this planet runs in cycles? Of course! Do I believe man had anything to do with any of them? No! Do I believe we have been in a warming cycle during the last 10 years? No! My summers have been getting cooler, my winters steadily colder. (I keep track.) The high water mark (ocean level) on my rugged beach has not moved in the 10 years I have lived here.

There are other reasons why I believe the way I do, but they have been beat to death already in other threads here.

Maybe the changes haven't exactly rocked Maine yet, but there are huge undeniable changes in the North Pole (vanishing ice thickness, melting glacier, decreased salinity of ocean waters) and the South Pole (larger, heavier ice packs and yes this is a sign of global warming) that have been filmed, photographed, and documented to death.

For what its worth, the weather here in New York especially at this time of year is unrecognizable. This is coming from my friends whose business primarily depends on great weather (restaurants, bars, and golf courses) who have been able to extend their money-making seasons much further than they ever have in the past. I've also seen changes myself in the tempratures and the rate at which my lawn grows, a dopey but very reliable indicator.

Can't we just throw another few billion at the
weather to make it stable again?
