Evolution, Monkeys, Eve and God

So, there I was watching Angels and Demons and all these crazy questions started popping in my head that would have made Nicci's head explode.

The movie is very far-fetched, but it certainly makes you think.

Anyway, I came home and was genuinely curious about her point of view. Nicci is a very dear friend and although we have different beliefs, I respect her point of view. Not just hers, but everyone.

Personally, I believe in Darwin's Theory of Evolution. I don't believe Adam and Eve were in a garden, etc.... It made me wonder, can you believe in evolution and still be a Christian or Catholic? If you don't believe in Adam and Eve then are you saying the bible is false? Although I have religious influences in my life, both Jewish and Christian, I would like to think I am somewhere in between as far as most beliefs are concerned. I am always fascinated as to the thoughts of people who were raised with more guidance. (Yes, I mean guidance, not brainwashing - for those who like to pick words apart.) Some may be guided down an atheist path or scientific path. I don't just mean guidance as in God/faith based.

Were there Dinosaurs thousands of years ago? (haha, leave that for another thread)

Thoughts?

And to be 'critical', "Evolution created by God" is kind of an oxymoron.

I've said it before, the Bible contains separate books/letters etc written at that time for the people of that time. Do thy still hold good today? I think one can still see the 'Spirit of God' in the Bible but there are only two claims in the Bible to be the infallible word of God. The most famous is at the end of the book of Revelations. This statement referred to the book of Revelations NOT the Bible as a whole.
