Data points from the Windy City
maybe this explains some of the stress in Chicago. wow, Obama sure has things on the right track there...
In June, a newspaper carried this headline: “Obama Campaigns as Chicago Murder Rate Soars.”
* In the last six months, 292 people were murdered in Chicago.
* In the same period, there were 183 Americans casualties in Iraq.
A couple more data points:
* The Illinois State pension fund is $44 billion in debt. That’s the worst in the country.
* Cook County, wherein Chicago sits, not only put JFK in the White House back in 1960 by encouraging everyone, dead or alive, to vote early and vote often, but it also has the highest sales tax in the United STates: 10.25 percent.
* Meanwhile, the Chicago school system is one of the worst in the country.
“This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois. He’s going to ‘fix’ Washington politics?”![]()
what matters most in life is honesty. it's never wrong to do the right thing.
Rhetorical question
A rhetorical question is a figure of speech in the form of a question posed for its persuasive effect without the expectation of a reply.

I think you forgot the numbers on poverty and health care among other things![]()
That's it...I'm going evil!
close minded??seriously.....you are the one screaming hate above all else. I have admitted that Obama makes great points in certain areas. I respect him. That makes me close minded? You couldn't admit agreeing with anything McCain or Palin says strictly because you "hate" or "dislike" them.
And I'm close minded? Riiiiiiiight. Makes perfect sense.
No wait....no it doesn't.
Are you saying other liberals drive you out of your mind?? I find that odd because....
I know a few liberals who drive me fucking insane![]()
"For Those That Have Fought For It, Freedom Has A Meaning The Protected Will Never Know"
Come on Nicci, when have I "screamed hate"? I've said that I respect John McCain(at least as far as his service to our country goes). And yes, I agree that some of my statements, jokes, comments, pics, and vids, have maybe been disrespectful to Mccain and Palin, But I don't feel they've been any more disrespectful than their campaign has been to Obama.
BTW, my original post here was because I felt that "liberals" were being put down and chastized just for being liberals.
All I did was give the dictionary definition of the word "liberal", and point out the counter points. There was no political intention(as far as the election goes) involved. All I was trying to do was point out that being a "liberal" is not as bad as some people say.
If the McCain supporters really think that he's gonna bring about "change", then that in itself(by definition) is a "liberal" way of thinking. Am I wrong?
To be 100% honest, I HATE "bashing", "putting down", and "smearing", McCain/Palin, but I feel like that's the only thing that they're doing to Obama, so I feel justified in doing the same right back.
Do I think John Mccain would make a good President? To be honest, maybe. But that would've been 8 years ago. Do I think he'd be a good one now? NO.
Do I think Sarah Palin would make a good V.P. and possible President? HELL NO!!!
If you look back, I never made one comment about the election until Palin was picked to be McCains running mate. Until that time(even though I was leaning toward Obama) I was still undecided. However, because of McCains pick(if it was really his choice and not a Republican party influence because of the whole Clinton not being selected by Obama thing), I now question his logic and decision making abilities.
Who knows, had McCain chose a different running mate, I may be voting Republican this year.
P.S. There are a few issues that I agree 100% with McCain/Palin on, and at the same time disagree with Obama. But the % of, and the issues that I'm personally and most concerned with, leads me to not only vote for, but to defend and try to convince people that they should vote for Obama.
