Seeing as your taxes didn't go up unless you're making $250K+, I'm guessing that your health insurance company decided to take more of your money for decreased services. I know that mine did. But hey, let's blame Obama for not taking on the insurance companies. Oh wait... he tried desparately and got shot down by the partisan Republican bloc in Congress.

I don't pay for health insurance, that comes off my husbands paycheck. And yes, our taxes did go up. They are taking $12 more a paycheck from me..... it has to be taxes, cause thats the only deductions I get, plus retirement. And that's not taking any more out than last year, because I checked this morning. My paychecks were almost identical last year to one another, now they are 12 less for some magical reason (because our taxes went up....i can see the difference on my LES). And we got a grand 2% raise.....

Maybe you'll get a bigger refund? Unless you've bumped up tax brackets, the federal taxes haven't changed at all. Maybe it's some funky thing with Florida taxes?

I bumped up tax brackets when I started this job. I don't think it's changed from December to January.

That's your answer. I'm dealing with the same thing right now where I'm right on the edge of jumping tax brackets and I'm trying to find ways to protect my gross income (401K, 529B, IRA's) to stay under the barrier. My parents ahve also decided to give me a wholly taxable wedding gift, so that's not helping either.

The point is: You are blaming Obama of secretly upping your taxes...when only people with over 250K have been affected.

Well I certainly didn't bump up my taxes. And more than the just the 250k+ people are being affected. He is taking more from everyone. I just checked my LES from last year to my current one. 2 weeks separate the statements. The federal taxes they are taking out is more now than it was in December. So, they are taking more taxes from me. So, yes Obama = federal.
