Hitting a cricket ball is the most God-impossible thing on the planet. I was a pretty damn good baseball player in high school and batted .377 my senior year. Moreover, I was a singles-and-speed type of hitter and took pride in putting the ball in play and rarely striking out.

Having that said, the one time I got a chance to swing a cricket bat resulted in me fanning on about 60% of my swings. Even when I made contact, I was barely getting a piece of it. Basically, combine everything that's difficult about baseball and the return of serve in tennis, and that's cricket. My tennis background helped me more than anything else!
