Geoff isn't wrong about some of the words being used in everyday speech but Nikki you can hardly slag off one entire nation when bastardizing languages is something all nations do over time. If you look at the roots of any word Anglo or American (and every other under the sun) the words normally come from another land... for instance Britain has been conquered many times over (maybe that's why our immigration sucks - our politicians are cowards and fear war) so we have many Scandinavian, Norman, Germanic words that have become what we know as English.

    mockney

someone who, bizarely, wishes they were a Cockney when they aren't one. Even more annoying than a cockney wanker since the latter can't help it, but a mockney is so by choice.

But I don't use mockney, tommy the guesser! one post you say noone uses it, the next you admit they do, you ought to tell mummy funky not to tie your shoelaces together when she does them up for you, may stop you tripping up.

Tongue in cheek so to speak ... And of course that's what's so great about American English is the fact it's so bastardized. Granted we here in America have a very few snobs in America that think they should speak in the Queen's English. However they are such a minority and mostly the Nuevo Riche and or actors and perhaps a few forum snobs here and there .... it ... makes .... it fun to mock them.

And old' billy quite the person too judge!
