WSOP 2010 Updates!

Some Threads are not really ment to respond or reply to. Both you and Linny are doin an excellent job with your coverage. Guessing im not the only one wishing I was there.

^^^Overstatement, but sweet, so we'll continue

Mastro's family arrived today so he spent the day with them. Rick played the Planet Hollywood tournament in the morning which is pretty large and he got 3rd for $230 bucks!

RC and his friend arrived and we planned on meeting at O'Sheas again, but they were short dealers and only had 2 tables running. Lin, myself, Rick, RC and his friend headed over to Treasure Island for a 10 pm tournament. Rick had a crap night. No other way to put it. I was at his table and he played great, but he just got screwed coming and going. In one hand he flopped trips early in the tournament and made a huge bet to assure no chasers - it did not dissuade one player who sure enough rivered a flush. It was brutal. Rick was the wise one. He won earlier in the day, so he was still up and went back early for a good night's sleep to prep for today's big event!

The rest of us kicked some tourny butt. There were 60 players total so top 6 paid. Linney just missed the final table.

RC, his friend and I finaled and I wound up with 4th and RC got 2nd for a very nice payday!

So, in total we have 6 people representing LP and 3 of our very own "regulars" in today's event. Go boys go!!

They expect 4000 players in this field. The event started Saturday for Day 1a and it had 1931 players.

OK, we're having a blast, Jen is kicking ass, and Rick too!!!

Didn't had the chance to meet with Mastro yet, but looking forward to it!!

Jen took down Osheas Friday nite, Box finished 3th at the Planet Hollywood yesterday morning and I took second at Treasure Island yesterday nite (dunno what happened to my chip lead there but .... I must have felt asleep between the 4th and the 3rd prosition bust) and Jen took 4th!!!

My best hand was :
- Raising from UTG to try to steal with

- One all-in (I cover her)
- Another all-in (which I also cover)
- And one call
- flop :

(and then that song in my head : "How sweat it is ...." hehehe)
- Turn was a Jack ... was hoping for my caller to catch a str a something, turn gotchecked
- I tried to had some more chips from him on the river, but he misplayed the river, so his hand got mucked!!

But what a flop ... I won the hand, and then I was chip leader!

Event #24b starts in 3 hours ... just relaxing, reading a book (The Professor, The Banker and the Suicide King

); planning on going to the pool in the next hour or so, and grabbing something to eat before going to kick as in this event!!!!

So today is the big day! First off let me say what a blast we have been having. Jen and Lin have been awesome as always! Meeting Rob (Mastro) and RC was very cool. Both great guys. Had some success yesterday early cashing in the PH tourney then ran into some bad luck with people calling big bets after hitting strong hands just to be sucked out on. Oh well that's poker. Hopefully lady luck will treat me better today. For those who have never been to the WSOP I can only describe it as Disneyland for poker players. The atmosphere is exciting and most all the big names are here.
2 1/2 hours until the cards are in the air. Gonna go for a walk on the strip then head over to the Rio.
