WSOP 2010 Updates!

Hey all. I know we aren't a super serious (scary and mean) poker forum However, being that Lin and I live in Sin City and am attending the series every day I am fortunate enough to have a birds eye view of the action. (A press pass doesn't hurt either).

Anyway, hopefully this will spark some of your interest and and attract newbies as well with a passion for the game!

Updates & pics will follow with recaps throughout the next 6 weeks direct from the Amazon floor!

I wanted to share my first thoughts of last evening. 116 players - 50 k buy in event twist on HORSE consisting of 8 games. Those games eight games are six fixed-limit games (hold'em, omaha hi/lo, razz, seven-card stud, seven-card stud hi/lo and 2-7 triple draw) and two big bet games (no-limit hold'em and pot-limit omaha).. This was a virtual who's who and one of the most impressive smaller tournaments I have ever been privi to. There was not an unrecognizable soul in the small back part of the Amazon room. Today was a very exciting day for Luvin Poker! A player named Jonathan Kotula final tables during the first event for the series - the Casino Employee Event. Jonathan took 1st in 2008. It was so exciting to rail the final table and see the LP patch. It was quite the story He didn't play last year, so to only play 2 times and win one, final table the other was pretty impressive. Apparently he has the same fondness for Qs that I do.

Anyway, great game Jonathan! I hope this is the beginning of many final tables for LP!

Jonathan Kotula raised to 42,000 and Arthur Vea met it with an all in re-raise. Kotula called, putting his tournament life at risk.

The flop gave Vea one of the outs he needed when it came . The turn of and the river were no help to Kotula, who was eliminated in 10th place.

Peter Gelencser a 22 year old took down the down the $2,500 Deuce-to-Seven Triple Draw event. I must be getting old because I swear he looks like he is about 12 yrs old
