I lost with quad eights the other night....guess I was lucky....the person holding 99 with a board of 88989 was pretty short stacked so only cost me about $20.

In Vegas those are called Bad Beat jackpots and you pray for those. Only thing is you need 2 cards in the hand. If your Quad 8s got beat by quad 9s in a casino here that would be anywhere from 150 k to 250k. In that case u want to lose. The biggest tragedy is when that happens to you at another casino that doesn't offer the jackpot. You know how it is; you play at the bad beat casino 3 times a week since you move to town, decide to hit the strip one night with a friend and then hit quad Tens beat by Quad Qs. I got alot of "Wows"and many "Nice Hands", but damn if I didn't get my quarter mill.

Okay, that wasn't a great example of the one hand question you were asking but its something I still obviously haven't forgotten and it was over a year ago. Yeah I'm over it, but makes for a great story.

My last ever hand at Bodog Poker!

I had rockets fairly late in a $10 buyin tourney - down to 2 tables from memory. The other guy had AK and the flop came down AK3 and after the allins the turn and river threw up KK!

I'm not one of those retards who blames the software for bad beats - for me its like if you buy something from a shop and its crap, you dont go back to that shop again do you?

The worst one i've had was an straight flush
There were 3,5, 7, 8, 9 Hearts on the table i had 4 and 6 and i've lost to a 10 and Jack i've almost broke the house down

best one i ever handed out was back at pokerroom. it was a re-buy tournament so i got to listen to the guy for quite awhile after i took his stack....

he had KK...i had QQ. he raises...i re-raise...he goes all in...i call.
flop comes K77. I'm practically drawing dead. but.....
turn is a Q.
river is a Q.

I've laid down a straight flush before in a live NL game.

I had 89 of spades, flop came TJA all spades, I bet the pot ($15) and get two callers. Turn is a blank. I bet $50 and get one caller. River is a Q of spades. I check pretty much knowing he has the K of spades. He makes a $250 bet with hands shaking so badly that I'm semi-worried he might be having a seizure. I muck my Q high straight flush face up, and everyone freaks until he turns over pocket Kings with the King of spades for a Royal. Then everyone REALLY freaked.

There wasn't a bad beat jackpot, and it wouldn't have counted anyways since both cards didn't play from his hand.

There was a 45 minute heated argument at the table about whether I should have laid down the hand or called. I knew with about 99.9% certainty that I was beat so I know I made the right move.

Well this isn't about me but my husband.
We went to the Casino down here in Australia he was playing in some tournament winner got 10k he was doing very well all the way through was not far from the final table was dealt AK and took a guy out so was a little pumped next hand had AA three guys were in it ended up all in my husband flopped quad A's and lost to a royal flush.
Just missed out on the money.
He was not happy at all............
But I ALWAYS loose with AA I hate playing them most of the time.
